I still wouldn't need one. If someone breaks into my house, then the last thing I want is a gunfight with someone.
Yes. Guns are neat. And they make me feel like a BIG MAN.
i'd get one for Christmas
I would probibly end up shooting myself accidently or out of bordom.
loadsa people have guns dont they?
I live in the countryside and there are loads of them about.
for one very obvious reason
you'd be a fucking vagina to
I'd also use the spots on the faces of grimey haired urchins as targets.
you're more likely to get shot if you own a gun then if you don't. Also i have better things to spend my money on.
I think it's impossible to say. In the current environmnt we live in in this country i would say no. But if very burglar could gt his hands on a hand gun quite as easily as they can in the states then, maybe.
Because I WILL shoot myself. Come on, cold depressing day in england. You'd see the population numbers drop sharply.
This question came about as a result of a chat with a friend who is of the 'OMGZ, Americans have guns and they all kill each other, therefore guns are bad, etc etc etc', but Canada has a higher rate of firearms ownership than the United States (some surveys suggest that it is in fact lower, but only very marginally) and yet they don't have anything like the same problems with firearms related offences. Ergo for Australia.
So, is it the opportunity or just the nature of the individual society that is to blame?
It's more interesting to compare like with like. Why does Canada differ so greatly to the USA when the respective cultures/standards of living and ease of access to firearms are so similar?
Because Yanks have FUCKING SHIT FOR BRAINS!!!
pledging allegiance to the flag, crack, run down urban centres, high population density crime ridden suburban projects, gangs, coke running, John Wayne, the mob, trigger happy cops, psychosis, wall to wall TV, genetically modified hormone injected compulsory vaccination programmes, self-righteous christian evangelicals, vietnam, bla bla bla, and the wikki wikki wild wild west
their kids 'O Canada' in school/
They have crack in Canada.
They have run down urban areas.
They have organised crime and SERIOUS drug wars: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quebec_Biker_war
(Over 150 killed)
Likewise with media saturation, hormone injected meat (Alberta is second only to Texas for beef), fundamentalist christians and the self same frontier spirit you find in the US is in evidence in Canada.
None of the facets you list is unique to the US.
they are saving up all their ammo to repel the American invasion of 2026
apart from the French Canadians of course - they will surrender and collaborate but will claim to be working for the resistance
also, "None of the facets you list is unique to the US"
- you could perhaps point me in the direction of a few Canadian cowboy flicks or Westerns and enlighten me as to the nature of Canada's Vietnam ?
I might also add that Canadians tend to have firearms for hunting Elk rather than holding up 'liquor stores'
what does Vietnam have to do with domestic
crime in the contemporary United States?
having a culture of gun ownership and having a culture of attempting to establish your superiority through shooting people
you do the math
Australia has minimal population density.
Also what does 'rate of firearm ownership' mean?
Numbers of people owning guns? Or does it mean number of guns in ownership (i.e. small numbers of people but with lots of guns)?
Also it's a 'rate' so it changes over time which is kind of weird. 'Number of guns owned per person' is a sensible figure. 'Rate of gun ownership' just sounds like someone using statistics to back up a poorly thought out argument, to me.
but I believe whilst gun ownership is just as high in Canada the ownership of hand guns is restricted more that shotguns or rifles for hunting. You require a different licence and they have to be registered to a particular owner. I believe you also need to past a test to get licence to own any firearm though what this test consist of I have no idea.
I don't really want a gun just for the sake of it. If I could get my hands on something cool like an Uzi though, then fuck yeah!
so I don't think it will really make any difference.
there's some seriousness there. He's going to be the first one piling up the arms when the war comes.
An M-16 with a Red Dot Scope.
1x Smoke grenade
My dry wit and fists are deadly enough.
i can't see it ending well
my hands are registered weapons
I probably should.
What are you, a fag enabler?!
I just dont condone violence of any kind. I've been given the nickname Gandhi by one of friends.
they probably hate you.
because sooner or later I'd be tempted to use it on someone.
I'd be aremed to the teeth in fact but6 i'd only use them on neds and traffic wardens. Would that be wrong?
one for me and a spare to get another set of prints on so i had the option of incriminating someone i didn't like.
in case i wanted to shoot myself at some point...
a broom handled mauser
a browning or colt 45 auto
a walther mpp
some sort of H& K assault rifle
a FAL SLR
a couple of ingrams
My objections would remain even if it was legal and I can't imagine a circumstance in which I'd ever be comfortable using a gun on anyone.
wouldnt you use it to defend at least your loved ones?
Surely their survival should matter more to you than your comfy sensibilities of niceness?
That's not to say I wouldn't do it but I wouldn't be comfortable with it.
No I wouldnt be 'comfortable with it'
The first time......, I imagine after a few times I would.
but I'd want something old school like a Luger. More for posing with than actual cold blooded killing though...
