Anyone done it?
I'm thinking of adding middle names.
removed his first name (Stacey) and went with his middle name (Phillip) which he has been doing since the age of 5 or something.
Its easy, costs like 40 pounds and he told me you could do it online.
I've never heard of Stacey for a boy...
parents thought it was a big up and coming name. It really wasn't.
However after years of shouting Phil! if that is your real name!?! I feel sad he has changed it.
then I probably would.
Plus, I wouldn't really be able to tell my dad / that side of the family, and they still send me cheques sometimes.
after a few months anyhow, and want to change it again, therefore annoying everyone I vaguely know a lot.
Although, on writing that, it seems more like a positive. K, I'll so change when I have money.
I always wanted to be called Lucy when i was little
Kallen Casey, which is the name I use for everything online, therefore it gets used far more regularly than my actual name anyhow.
I could change it every year or so. You can do that, right? That might be pretty fun. And super annoying. Brilliant.
of my middle name. Which is pretty lame, but i've always wanted it to be spelled Freyja (which is the old norse spelling) rather than Freya.
so it still wouldn't be completely correct.
I've always wanted one though. At primary school, I insisted everyone used the middle name I made up for myself (Pamela.. urgh).
My mum told me she wanted to call me Rosebud Mandarin, but was talked out of it. So I think I might make these my middle names. They're not what I'd pick for myself.
I'd actually like to change my first name, but that seems like a lot more hassle. Or I'd at least officially shorten it from Jillian to Jill or Jilly, as that's what I'm usually called anyway and I prefer it.
with someone who changed their name from Ben Jay Murphy to Benjay X Murphy. He also had a giant question mark tattoo'd on his forearm.
and that is enough. i deed change is used by some companies as proof but you can just ask to be called "OOOOO" whenever.
despite her real name being Janet.
I'm not sure how it works though.. Can I just tell my bank, work, etc my new name? I assume I need to get it changed by deed poll? But how is this diffirent from if I was English?
was going to change my first name to Rose (what she wanted to call me) and after my parents split I debated changing my surname to my mother's maiden name
I spell my first name differently and dropped a middle name (I had two).
You don't need to do anything. As long as you're not trying to defraud anyone you can be called anything you want. It could be a problem convincing authorities though - wasn't actually a problem for me as I decided when I was 15/16 so just applied for passports, driving licence, bank account, etc in the new name. Might have been more of a problem if I wanted to change my second name.
Otherwise you can just use a standard worded form and get it witnessed by someone independent, preferably someone with status like the passport office asks for to sign the back of your photos (doctor, lawyer or even a company director).
My initials are pretty cool too. There's one thing my parents did right!
Sometimes I wish my name was a "Mc" though. Just for the fun of it
I'm going to add the names my mum wanted to call me, but was discouraged from doing so.
And possibly shorten my first name.
so it cost her a tenner each time.
but I wouldn't want to call myself that.
i mean you were given it, you don't get a choice. i don't understand. maybe i can understand if you've been given a daft/silly name like Crudgewaffle, but not if you've got a perfectly sane name like Graham or Patricia.
A girl in my year changed her name from Caroline to Liz. WHY?
for marital purposes.
don't. You'll look like a pretentious douche.
