This movie has apparently broken 14 box office records:

It's only second to Titanic in terms of US box office takings, though it would have to do another 90-odd million dollars to beat that record.

It's also number 29 in the ajusted-for-inflation list:

The only recent films above it are Titanic, Phantom Menace and Jurassic Park, and even JP is 15 years old now.
