who literally can not complete a conversation with at least one Tim Vine joke in it. This amuses me. Whittle FTW.
he was fantastic.
he was a dark horse.
I went to Millets and said 'I want to buy a tent.' He said 'To camp?', I said [butchly] 'Sorry, I want to buy a tent.' I said 'I also want to buy a caravan.' He said 'Camper?' I said [campily] 'Make your mind up.'
Stolen from Tim Lovejoy.
And so did Whittle.
I miss Whittle :(
They can take it, but they can't dish it out.
Bring back Whittle!
does he still hold that world record?
held by some american now. He isn't going to challenge for it again though. Says comedy isn't supposed to be a competition and he is content having been the first to do it.
theres the potential for a bring back Whittle campaign here.
He's like a childrens' entertainer
It's just fun without any need to justify itself. I love a whole range of comedians. Many will tell long stories culminating in a funny payoff, and you'll laugh 20 times in a night. With Tim Vine you're laughing your head off constantly for an entire night. I think it's very difficult to be cynical about someone that's capable of doing that. I've told a few people some of his jokes, and in isolation they've thought it's a bit silly, then I've made them watch the DVD and they've loved it. The barrage is the whole point of his act, and I find it almost worrying when some people say they get nothing whatsoever from it...
