my Creative mp3 player is being weird

brusma [Edit] [Delete] 23:46, 2 September '08

for ages i was convinced it was broken anyway - whenever i plugged it in to charge there was just a flickering light on the top. after months i found out (thanks to mehodor having the same problem) it was due to a totally dead battery and i should just leave it to charge. i did, and it worked.

anyway, i did all that using USB charge - i just found my mains adaptor so i thought "i know, i'll use it to charge the thing up". anyway, i plug it in, leave it for a while. come back, turn it on (with the mains still plugged in), says it's fully charged. "cool", i say, promptly unplug the thing and it dies. won't turn on. but i plug it back and it says it's fully charged again

by now i'm operating at "wat" level of confusion. i plug the thing back into USB and it starts flickering again, as if the battery's fully dead and it's having to start from scratch. i'm going to leave it for a while to get back to something approaching normality.

so DiS, riddle me this:
how is it possible that the mains, which is supposed to charge the thing, has sucked all the fecking life out of it?
