next season - one in a million
to agree that anything is possible next season, depending on who comes.
but seriously, this season, the chances are less than slim surely?
Everton made it to the Champions League qualifiers a couple of seasons ago
gonna happen, they are in dreamland
(though it would be very funny if that did happen)
wonder what'll happen to the city academy.
cos that has been doing pretty well
i went to school with someone who was on the fringes of the Chelsea team when Abramovich took over. He had just been promised a meaningful part in the team when Roman started going crazy and he was aslmost instantly released to a lower league club. big shame
if a player were that close to playing a meaningful part in a top six team, he'd have the attention of more than lower league clubs.
Sounds like your mate's excuse for unfulfilled potential.
I thought about making a comment about that but decided against it.
man utd and chelsea then signing players like Henry and Ronaldo(Brazil) is not the answer.
rather than players who are past their peak.
if Man City bought every good player from chelsea and man utd they'd win the league by default...
i'd be gutted by what's happening at the club. Obviously there are benefits to having an endless budget, but there is no soul in creating a team like this - how many of them will be playing for the shirt? I know it's rare in top flight football that the whole team has dignity, but at every club there are a few good'uns. If the city owners get their way, this'll be the first club without any.
even Man Utd: Neville, Scholes, Giggs...
as ooposed to none. Also, there are players who play for their shirts more than others...the line up that this Man City guy would be the most horrific line-up of egos ever...can't belive they've not made a move for Adabyour (or however you spell his name)...
at Liverpool does or they wouldn't be wearing it.
Ronaldo has said he wants to play for the biggest club in the world, so we will see in January if he is serious, if he refuses, he will die like a pig along with his family" said Dr Sulaiman Al-Fahim, Bond Villain and member of the Abu Dhabi United Group
blue bastards at my feet.
Richard Dunne captain to the stars!
rio ferdinand, carvalho, ramos, maldini and bobby moore
Ricardo Carvalho is actually Franco Baresi using just for men.
although i have no idea why.
but I'd actually love it if the deal for Ronaldo went through.
Robinho's just been on SSN with a City shirt. He looks thrilled.
should remember that Real's policy was to buy one Galactico per year, no an entire 500 million pound team in January.
the owner's said he's looking to buy Ronaldo, Torres and Fabregas in January.
Yesterday he couldn't buy Berbatov, Villa or Gomez.
that neither chelsea, man u or arsenal will be selling their best players to city. Probably not liverpool either but not so sure.
But I can almost guarantee they will get some, although probably not until the summer.
For all his spending, Abramovich did stay within the constraints of the market. These guys seem to be able, and prepared to, absolutely rape the market. I'd be surprised if they got Messi or Ronaldo next summer but they'll undoubtedly get some seriously big names and I imagine the effect from there, assuming they're relatively successful, will be exponential.
Manchester City are not, and never will be, a big club. They can have all this money but they still won't be as big as United, Liverpool or Arsenal.
Nobody will want to go them for who they are, but will for how much money they can get paid. I wouldn't want a team full of those sorts of players.
theyre a much more likeable side than most of the second tier premiership teams
So Morinho will be going to Man City and then Hughes can go to Newcastle
that on Sunday I watched Manchester City confidently out play my team, in one of the best performances by an away side at the Stadium of Light.
...The very next day the new owners want to buy a whole new team.
