that should please Paul
his child like leaps that greet every goal. bless him. chin up eh kev? chin up.
I don't know why. Theres just something about him.
I think I just find him a bit pathetic
I'd wager that Curbishley has got it far worse at West Ham, and he hasn't walked out
ffs, get on with it and stop whinging Kev you tosspot.
I feel sorry for the non-insane fans, but really, Newcastle need to give up the delusions of grandeur and just accept that they're an average-to-not-good club. Keegan only fed the whole thing even more. Get a grip for christ's sake.
STEALTHADAMUS: I'm pretty sure I'm on record as saying he would be in this job less than a year. Now all I have to do is remember who I bet money on it with...
What idiot would take such a bet?
the most predictable thing of the season so far. What a fucked up club; hopefully they're now all set to 'do a Leeds.'
Timewasters. No prospects, no energy and no sense of humour.
have detest your attitude. I can take alot of things and like constructive critism of my club but to wish "A leeds" on any club is a fucking disgrace.
and Keegan would've got you to the 6th position i think this season. however ashley fucked it all up with wise, who i can see as manager now yeah.
i have two opinions on keegan. i admire him for say "fuck you" to the pish he is put under but also i think "come on" when i realise that he probably could've done a good job with what players they have
an owner/chairman that necks pints of lager. I wouldn't.
"Angry supporters gathered at St James' Park to protest at the reports of Keegan's impending departure."
LOL. Any excuse to gather in one place and show their shirts off for the cause :)
theres a few fans and 2 policemen.
I'm imagining the hordes now, weaving their way to the Temple...
As much as Mike Ashley is a sycophantic, clueless twit, Keegan also deserves to be widely castigated for unnecessarily destabilising us even further right at the start of the season. There's a half decent squad here despite Milner's departure and he had the opportunity to make an impression over the course of a couple of years, but instead he's just thrown his toys out of the pram because he didn't get his own way.
He has form on this though.
Everybody knew that at some point he'd quite or be sacked.
they do tend to quit or be sacked.
He could have died.
or infact he could have quite, yes, QUITE!
bit of a twat?
I actually quite like KKK, on the quiet. Fancy replacing him with Dennis Wise though, dearie me.
Ashley came in as a new owner following the previous regime. Frankly Osama Bin Laden's dog raping leper cousin, a multi-millionaire through the sale of child shredding cluster bombs, could've been seen as an improvement.
He proceeded to make the right noises. Sure, he sat with the fans. Sure, everyone knew he was a plastic fan. But if he's making the right effort and doing the right things for the good of the club, fine. Back him to the hilt. He's the owner, he's loaded, he's going to stabilise and improve on the previous situation.
Behind the scenes, Ashley discovers that the club's spent all of the transfer money it's received, and is still due to receive, and then some. There's a big hole in the bottom of the piggy bank. So he rolls up his sleeves, pumps in cash, and balances the books, securing the clubs financial future. Hero.
He then proceeds to fuck all this up with an organisational structure proven not to work in football, and by alienating a local hero who could only have been lured back to the club by promises that have not been fulfilled.
The positive side is that he has stabilised the club after years of decline, both financially and on the field.
The negative side of this is that there is now no manager, and the small squad is highly succeptible to injuries. Additionally, the star player and captain is out of contract at the end of the season and pretty damn unlikely to sign given the past and present internal goings on at the club.
The only way out of this I can see is for Ashley to sell the club and move on. If he manages to make a personal profit, so be it. He has, if the truth has been told, financially rescued the club, and overseen a period where, if the squad has not improved, it has at least been optimised by getting rid of some of the chaff.
But he cannot hope - and make public noises alluding as such - to lift the club to a level of European qualification with this manner of running, or the resources being made available.
Keegan is not blameless in all of this but this is a fucking shambles and yet another season written off.
it's all set-up now for the Wise and Shearer super duo - two of the most hated players in football - to take Newcastle down to the Championship.
Will be interesting to see how many replica shirted fans they can pull then.
I love this guy!
You must support either Sunderland or boro?
I certainly don't need any sort of local rivalry to have issues with 'the Toon' or find a certain section of their fanbase slightly risable.
Incidentally, one of my best friends is a hardcore Barcode and he agrees with most of what I say.
could be the sizeable reality check needed by many, but if what has already happened hasn't done that, there's no hope
I'd rather not see Shearer in charge at all, please.
Good, more geordies need to open their eyes.
Both have a fantasy vision of what football is in the Premier League. A vision that is blind to the reality. The reality is either a club has a dubiously-funded foreign investor with an absurd stack of cash he needs to put somewhere to dodge billions of tax payments, or else the club is a mid-table battler that can be fighting relegation or threatening a UEFA place, but nothing more.
Both Keegan and Ashley are yesterday. Keegan can go back to fishing or gardening or whatever, and Ashley can sell and then contemplate his impending heart attack from being obese.
that between Keegan and Ashley we might have at least one stable season - perhaps a top 10 (or even 8) finish - and start the work on building the team towards something. Like Everton, Villa and Pompey have been.
Instead we're destined for another season floundering about retarded by our own troubles.
Keegan staying according to Look North just now as I was typing
Sky Sports News at the moment is hilarious. A couple of hundred of Geordies, down St James Park, going crazy, getting battered and celebrating the news that he isn't leaving.
and just as someone from the Daily Star was proclaiming the death of the club the interviewer got a press release saying that Kev was staying
Kevin Keegan - Official NUFC Statement
NEWCASTLE United can confirm that meetings between members of the Board and manager Kevin Keegan were held both yesterday and today.
Kevin has raised a number of issues and those have been discussed with him.
The Club wants to keep progressing with its long-term strategy and would like to stress that Kevin is extremely important, both now and in the future.
Newcastle United values the effort and commitment shown by Kevin since his return to St. James' Park and wants him to continue to play an instrumental role as manager of the Club.
he probably just kicked up a fuss about the transfer window, threatened to leave, and they've been trying to change his mind ever since.
changed their minds because of the fan protests? Bit of a circus innit
:( we're such a laughing stock
we've been there since about the time he went mental and we lost our big lead at the top of the league that time.
With a brief period of relief when Robson threaten to make us really competitive again before he was sacked for finishing a mere 5th.
I never said I was surprised :)
Ruud Gullit is going to make his glorious return any day now.
absolutely nothing would surprise me anymore.
protest sort of thing to try and convince Coppell to stay, and it worked.
He's cracking me up. Better than ape man, maybe.
The guy is a leg end.
I need html/css skillz. My blog has nothing on it because I've spent two months trying to beautify it. It now looks like Jackson Pollock's idea of a blog.
I just use the templates. And scanned in some awful art. And boom! A blog nobody reads.
There's actually nothing on it. If it gets fit for consumption, I'll post it on here.
Heh, I've added your blog to feedreader. Feel privileged.
I can't believe they sacked him. More, he said he wanted to resign and the board did everything in their power to convince him to stay. And I suspect that would have happened irrespective of any protests.
check this out:
geordies crack me up. I particularly like the guy who keeps on going on about Ashley drinking beer, then suggests that he won't be able to sit with the fans in future because they'll kick the fuck out of him. what a sophisticated young man.
