you'd think this is a pretty easy thing to do that most people would manage to do succesfully without upsetting anyone in the process, right?

well, you'd be wrong to. there are people who can't even get anything as basic as this right. why would you just stick your hand out and leave it hanging mid air like a dead fish? THAT INVOLVES NO SHAKING. it is rude and upsetting and at times also creepy. your hand is not actually lame, so please stop pretending it is, cause it won't get you anywhere.
