Which great moment

gowman [Edit] [Delete] 10:13, 1 September '08

If you could take the place of a sportsman during an historic moment, which person and what event would it be? You’d only get time to actually make the move and feel the thrill/joy/wonder of the moment before you were back to normal.
Would you choose Geoff Hirst slotting in the third goal of his hat trick to help England win the World Cup in 1966?
Or perhaps Usain Bolt winning the gold and breaking the world record in the 100m at Beijing just last month?
Or maybe you fancy something more devilish and would choose Maradona’s infamous Hand of God goal to put England out of the 1986 World Cup?
Or maybe you’d choose Jesse Owens who won four gold medals at the 1936 Olympics and stuck it to the Arayan race?
Which person at what event would you choose?
I’d choose Roger Bannister breaking the four minute mile record.
