  • You eat your roast early!

I like mine at about 4.
Today were having chicken. Ill have mine with some rice and peas. Cos, it's an excuse to go 'RICE AND PEAS'. And err. I like rice and peas more than spuds and veggies.

    ATHENETHEGREAT | 31 Aug '08, 15:08 | X
    • yeah we have ours early

only started doing this recently, it's so we can get this family crap out of the way and have the rest of the day to ourselves

      chris_is_cool @ATHENETHEGREAT | 31 Aug '08, 15:10 | X
      • that is wise

sundays are normally ruined by the 'sunday roast argument'

        ATHENETHEGREAT @chris_is_cool | 31 Aug '08, 15:11 | X
        • indeed

and now it's all over i can look forward to some lovely apple pie and vanilla ice cream!

          chris_is_cool @ATHENETHEGREAT | 31 Aug '08, 15:13 | X
  • nope

    Mehodor | 31 Aug '08, 15:09 | X
  • Yes

but usualy in an evening and not every sunday.

    But they do happen...

    jimitheexploder | 31 Aug '08, 15:11 | X
  • Yup.

I probably cook a roast a couple of Sundays a month. I usually do the full works. I love roast dinners, possibly more than anything else in life.

I don't know if I'll do one today. I'm going to have a shower now and then I'll decide.

    • more than...

      Central Heating?

      justanothersheeldz @MirriLondon | 31 Aug '08, 15:26 | X
      • I usually go to a pub for a proper sunday lunch

but i'm unemployed at the moment so i can't afford it.

        it bites.

        Bagelheart @justanothersheeldz | 31 Aug '08, 15:28 | X
      • uh huh!

I like the cold anyway, so it takes a lot for me to put central heating on :)

        MirriLondon @justanothersheeldz | 31 Aug '08, 15:39 | X
  • no,

my mum has gone for one in a pub but i probably would have puked all over it so i stayed at home eating ice.

    walkingwithwolves | 31 Aug '08, 15:27 | X
  • Haven't had a Sunday lunch in ages

I'll probably have some once I move in with the girlfriend :)

    It'll have:

    - nutroast (or vegetarian haggis)
    - roast potatoes
    - roast parsnips
    - sprouts
    - honey-glazed roast carrots
    - sage and onion stuffing
    - peas

And then I'll be a happy man.

    commandercool | 31 Aug '08, 15:30 | X
    • are you a vegetarian?

      chris_is_cool @commandercool | 31 Aug '08, 15:32 | X
      • Affirmative

        commandercool @chris_is_cool | 31 Aug '08, 15:34 | X
    • no yorkshire puddings?

      madness....

      Bagelheart @commandercool | 31 Aug '08, 15:33 | X
      • Shite, forgot them

there'll be Yorkshires, don't you worry.

        commandercool @Bagelheart | 31 Aug '08, 15:33 | X
        • made without animal fat?

          :(

          Ibzo @commandercool | 31 Aug '08, 15:35 | X
    • Vegetarian haggis?

      Wuh?

      DillingersWheelman @commandercool | 31 Aug '08, 15:34 | X
      • It's just vegetables and stuff

with the same flavourings as they use in haggis.

It's really nice and doesn't contain any offal.

        commandercool @DillingersWheelman | 31 Aug '08, 15:35 | X
        • Surely that's just pureed vegetables

It's a bit like claiming you can have vegetarian Beef Wellington if you call it Haggis.

          DillingersWheelman @commandercool | 31 Aug '08, 15:38 | X
          • We could argue about semantics all day

            but that's what it's called.

            commandercool @DillingersWheelman | 31 Aug '08, 15:40 | X
            • Vegetarian Haggis

              Vaggis?

              gowman @commandercool | 31 Aug '08, 17:18 | X
  • Don't think I've had once since Xmas

was supposed to go out for one today but I'm too lazy to get dressed... so lunch will probably be toast instead.

    Harpo_Marx | 31 Aug '08, 15:32 | X
  • Roast Parsnips > other food

    jakam0 | 31 Aug '08, 16:23 | X
  • Havent had one

in quite a while but I'm making roast beef with all the trimmings tonight for me and my girlfriend.

    Roast beef
    roast potatoes
    roast parsnip
    roast carrots
    peas
    yorkies.

Although, I'm a wee bit nervous because I've never actually done a roast before, and because it's just the two of us I just bought a tiny wee mini beef roast from Morrison's so I dont really know how it'll pan out.

    young_turk | 31 Aug '08, 16:29 | X
  • nah,

waiting for the chinese to open so i can get me some sweet and sour deep-fried chicken.
    srsly best asian food EVER

    doodthatkicksarse | 31 Aug '08, 16:31 | X
  • occasionally in the evening

on some sundays, but not every sunday, or in the day

    fucktherave | 31 Aug '08, 16:31 | X
  • I'm just waiting on my roast

    Exited!

    Staunchino | 31 Aug '08, 16:38 | X
  • I think I had one last week

but I don't tend to eat English food that often. If someone cooks me a roast I'll eat it- but I've never had the urge to try cooking a full roast.

    TheSoundofBastards | 31 Aug '08, 17:08 | X
  • yup

    all the trimmings.

    ReincarnationofKali | 31 Aug '08, 17:10 | X
  • wow

    i wish

    jazzz | 31 Aug '08, 17:30 | X
  • I hate

people who have disrespect the laws of the roast dinner (Yorkshire puddings with things other than beef, having mint sauce with other meat than lamb etc).

But I'm veggie now so it doesn't really matter.

    goldenstreams | 31 Aug '08, 17:43 | X
    • but but but

mint sauce with beef is ACE and more people should try and it.

and also yorkshire puddings should be eaten whenever possible as they are one of the best things ever.

      Vicky1 @goldenstreams | 31 Aug '08, 17:59 | X
  • no.

    bsoucek | 31 Aug '08, 18:11 | X
