Knighthoods, OBEs, MBEs.
Let's assume you somehow get offered one.
Do you go and get it? And if not why not?
cos you also get a medal which would sell for a TON on ebay
and nominees you would find acceptable.
and they nominated me then probably yes
if it was one of those ones people seem to get for public a somewhat well known public figure then no
which one my uncle is, and came across this on the Telegraph website (an article about state schools as good as or better than their private rivals)
"Head: Jonathan Burnett OBE, who has been head of Truro College since its inception in 1993, is an Olympian figure in Cornish education: a local man who lives on a farm and includes walking and gardening among his hobbies. A true evangelist in the sometimes thorny world of FE."
Err...... wow. "OLYMPIAN", "TRUE EVANGELIST"... OTT much?? And what has walking and gardening got to do with running a school?
It would depend what for. If something awesome, then sure. Well, not an MBE - they're the rubbish ones, right? I'd take the ones above that.
Yeah I think OBEs sit above MBEs.
i'd only accept an honour above that too, to rub it in his crummy oldman face
and I don't remember him being inspirational at all.
I think he spoke to me twice. Once to tell me to take my feet off some railings, and once because I was a passenger in a car when a friend drove the wrong way round a roundabout.
I think I speak for all Americans when I say we find it fascinating and silly. King Arthur knighting Lancelot. Freaking awesome! Fat Elton John? Haha!
If yer Queen wanted to give me a blue ribbon for the chili cook off.. I'd freaking love it.
is called "Order of the Sacred Treasure". How cool?!
I'd definitely accept one of those. It sounds like a really bad action/adventure video game. Why are the Japanese so much better than us at everything?
British history is a thousand times more interesting than any Asian country... arguably the most interesting, eh.
or "British Empire".
One of those sounds infinitely cooler.
Sir Francis Drake patroling the high seas. "Sacred Treasure" sounds like something I'm supposed to find on the 7th level of a stupid video game. Where's your sense of romance PM?
video games > romance, anyhow.
I've always got a soft spot for you Pocketmouse and if you weren't 19 I'd worry you were going to end up living with 14 cats. Cats with Sacred Treasure collars.
