Anything I should do while I'm there? Am already going to the Gustav Klimt thing at the Tate.
Good places to drink/eat?
and found it difficult to find anything interesting to do
Emigrate to London.
I went there once for the night. We went to a Yates's.
I didn't even SEE the Yates's!
Can't some of you Liverpool fans tell me about your home cit.... oh wait.
I'm sure there's a few blue noses here though. Hell they might even be from Liverpool.
but then i travelled the best part of 300 miles there and back to see Liverpool, which must make me more of a fan than those oiks who only travel 2 miles to see them. Am i right or am i right??
the roads seemed pretty confusing and annoying.
you might as well not bother going
bar/recording studio nice chilled place and cheap enough.

Everywhere, it was.
I'm glad we can all have a laugh about it now eh, eh, eh, eh, eh.
that's how seriously I took it.
is worth visiting. Go to the Wirral, walk out to the three little islands (wait until the tide goes out is my tip).
Err, thats all I can think of.
Don't think I'll be visiting Anfield, but thanks.
*I really hope there is one.
the Wirral is picturesque.
usually has cool stuff on
Um - that's it
Fact centre is on my list.
Thankfully former DiS user and general ace person Patricide has provided me with some good things.
You lot are rubbish.
No idea where it goes from and to. I only know the song. For that matter, you should also buy a Ticket To Ride and do something that Frankie Goes To Hollywood suggested. Dean Relax.
Sounds pants. Dean Relaxin' I can do.
Its a triples bar and has a good jukebox.
Go to the walker and the world museum, good exhibition on music there at the moment as well as fish and dinosaurs.
Yes, go to Kimos for food, cheap and tasty.
Docks are expensive but look pretty/like a building site.
Go to bar cava and try tequilas for £1, many tasty flavours, good tunes.
the one on mt pleasant is the newest/nicest
I had one in a department store cafe some time in the early 90s, and it tasted evil. Strangely, I may even have been wearing a shellsuit at the time.
Other half nice bars would be The Jacaranda, La'Go, The Pilgrim, Heebie Jeebies.
FACT is nice but it's basically just a good arthouse cinema.
Liverpool is essentially a bit shit. Anyone who likes The Courteeners et al will love it's 'alternative night life' but its really nothing special.
Food options are a bit better. Ego on Hope Street is nice and quite cheap, it's near The Pilgrim too. If not there then the French rasaturant on Hardman Street is supposedly nice.
Korova hasnt shut. Geisha has!
I left Liverpool in July. I heard it had shut down, was in The Mirror. Haha.
Geisha was awful, glad Korova is still open for now- only nice place in Liverpool.
Its still open. Its Geisha though, i know people who own Cirko and Korova owned it, Geisha was boss inside but to out the way for anyone to go there like! Yeah Korovas ace for gigs to, except shit sound. I love it when the curtains open and you see everyone walking past when the band are playing, well surreal!
Pubs: The Pilgrim, Rigby's, Ship & Mitre, The Philharmonic, Doctor Duncan's. If you're coming during September there are organised pub-tour type events going on.
Bars: The Magnet, Heebie Jeebies, Korova, Bar Cava, Bumper
If you're in the Albert Dock already you might as well try Raven and Circo or whatever - there's lots of places to eat and drink round there but it's cheaper further if you walk up into town.
Try and grab a Capital of Culture listings guide from a station or the tourist info centre too if you're staying for a couple of days.
All the bars mentioned above are my usual haunts.
Nights out- Barfly do a night called Mixed Bag on a thursday and Le Bateau is great most nights.
and its not essentially shit at all...
Theres loads to...
bars: roscoe head, caledonia, peter kavannaghs, pilgrim, ye cracke, korova, djangos riff..
dancing: bumper, barfly, le bateau, chibukuks ace when its on, some good stuff in bar fresa to.
eat: egg, green fish, kimos, quick chef - all ace and cheap!
thats adding onto whats already posted.
so are all it's other bars.
soso SO good
Heebee jeebies I would suggest too. most people's suggestions. I find it a great place and much cheaper. Alma De Cuba is quite a cool club, the building is stunning. Music is not great but you can go in for like 5 minutes and then go next door to heebee jeebies.
Egg cafe is ridiculously cheap and cool and it does host some great music nights, went there once and they had a jeff buckley tribute night that was awesome
they normally have interesting art stuff, too.
green day's on lark lane is another good veggie place.
I rate it pretty good/10. Ace buildings and the docks were really nice. I also like Philharmonic pub.
'out in the town' on the friday night was a thing of wonder. It was like looking into the future, a future full of orange people and alcoholism. It was brilliant. The policemen walking around with massive wooden batons was a nice touch.
I miss them, often attached to someone with a shaved head and unusual levels of testosterone. Which bars/ clubs did you end up in?
