how would one get to George street or near there using the train and coming from london?
But yeah, any other FCC/Thameslink station, be it St Pancras, Kentish Town, West Hampstead, London Bridge, Blackfriars or Farringdon...
to St Albans (City) Station, take a right turning out along Victoria Road, down to the end, turn left for a hundred metres or so, then right again down High Street (a fairly major junction with traffic lights IIRC). Carry on straight when the main road forks off to the right.
is 100% correct. Where are you going on George Street? You will be walking past a pub I used/occasionally work in.
the Cancer Research shop on the left just before George Street - it's always got an exciting selection of vinyl and cds.
You should also have a pint in The Horn before you get your train back - it's just opposite the station and it's 'The Music Pub of the Year 2008!'
Oh - and try and avoid the trains that stop at Hendon, Elstree and Borehamwood, Cricklewood etc. If you get a direct one it should take you no more than 20 minutes from St. Pancras.
that is very nice of you to mention that.
two of my faveourite things, well stocked charity shops and good pubs.
also, why has it had the music award bestowed upon it?
Cancer Research. The Horn isn't that good during the day though.
