Well I'm pretty glad I didn't book my flights to Canada through Zoom...
i just read the latest news update
what's going to happen then? will they refund you or anything? fucksake :( i hope you get everything sorted!
we spoke to the bank and they seemed fairly confident that we'd get our money back, so we've booked flights with a different airline now. We can't fly from Cardiff anymore though so we're Heathrow bound.
but a trip to london seems a small price to pay i guess! Well done on that, i'm sure there'll be quite a lot of people who won't get their money back :S yikes.
it is shocking when these low budget airlines get fucked, no really.
despite really wanting to I never took advantage of their existance
I flew with them to Canada twice and they were great on each occasion.
They had these great pretty and somewhat tarty air hostesses on the Calgary route too. All fuck me boots and tongue piercings, made a change from the senior citizens on Air Canada anyway.
the same situation :(
Hard to get money back if you book with a debit card apparently :(
and they seemed optimistic with us on the phone. We have to send a copy of our e-tickets and details of when the money went out of your bank, how much, when you booked the flights etc and they should be able to refund it.
They had adverts everywhere. Fucking credit crunch. Hope it all works out. :(
I flew with Zoom to Vancouver last year and it was the worst flight of my life.
Rude (and ugly) trolley dollys, no leg room, no reading light, no blower, no movable headrests so you can sleep on the 10 hr journey, crap food etc etc
Good fucking riddance, you will all be better off without these cheapskate muthafuckers
Unless you're taking a holistic view of the global economy. Which would be a cheap way to win the argument.
didn't they cite the "current economic situation" alongside fuel prices for the shit they're in?
rising fuel costs plus people not going on holiday as much = bad times
That sucks man. I hope you manage to get your money back.
we just need to send all the paperwork off to the bank.
Hilariously, our new flights were cheaper than the ones we had booked with Zoom.
this better be the best holiday ever!
That's not really a surprise if it is, but who'd want to risk taking it down to the knuckle on the offchance it would be cheaper and then maybe get left out in the cold?
At least you're not stranded in Glasgow!
I've just seen two paragraphs that are so uniquely Guardianista that I nearly turned into an Alfalfa seed:
'Forsyth said he Googled the word Zoom on his iPhone and found out about the airline's crisis.
"With a slight fear of being tackled by police, I hopped on the highest counter I could see and shouted out the news," the graphic designer said.'
