According to this there are about 4000 people every year the queen sends a telegramme or whatever to, presumably including a bunch of Commonwealth countries.

Anyway, I was wondering how the numbers dip and rise between years.

For example 1996 would have seen the start of men born who were 18 in 1914 so would be expected to join up so I'd assume there were less over the next 5-7 years than after that.

But still, everyone who reaches their century now has still lived through two world wars and the evil Spanish 'Flu that killed loads. Will there be a sharp dip 100 years after that appeared due to the number of babies probably killed?

I'm a bit concerned at the idea of living well past 100.
