Bar Etiquette

belsizeparka [Edit] [Delete] 12:54, 25 August '08

I was in a bar last Friday, aI ordered a pint of Guinness off, well we'll call her barmaid 1. The tap stopped with the glass about 1 inch full, so barmaid 1 asked barman 1 to change the Guinness. I asked barmaid 1 is it cool if I get a fresh pint, as I don't like to mix kegs. She said fine. The Barman 1 came back and proceeded to continue to pour the Guinness. I stopped him and said I'd prefer a fresh one, and he got into such a bother, that they were all from the same tap, and that I was being awkward, and what was he supposed to do with the half full glass?

I'm not being an idiot about being a little bit fussy when it comes to my drink? I've been ill before, from what I suspected were mixed kegs, yet the way he went on, you'd have thought I was asking for it to be imported from Dublin directly. Just to give some background, it was only my third pint, and was quite civil about the whole thing.

Thoughts?
