Not too expensive (< £20). Spring loaded. Suitable for both acoustic and electric. THANKS.
5th fret ftw (y)
it has 'Kyser' stamped on it
hope that help!
That's the one I was looking at.
it'll make you start liking The Smiths
but for spring loaded you're looking at a Kyser or Jim Dunlop
They look like they screw on and off, and I can't be arsed with that.
you just press it down. Very easy. And very very gooood. Remember if your acoustic is a nylon stringed one with a flat fingerboard you might need another one for that. A flat one. But otherwise you're laughing. Shubb is king. Really. I played in a folk band and everyting with one. Much better than that piece of shit dunlop patterned hippy elastic band doofer.
My acoustic is steel stringed, so I'll be fine with just one the one.
I looked it up once.
Alternatively, use several rubber bands. Never fails
it just takes forever to get on and off. I'm not sure a pencil and rubber bands would be a step up.
you wanna get a 120lb spring loaded Shubb as the pressure differential over the use of a Kyser produces a greater and more consistent tone on each string. I also find the Kyser rather cumbersome and prone to falling off mid-song. All in all, the engineering that has gone in to the Shubb sets it worlds apart from the shoddy production that the Kyser represents.
only because its what i have and it works perfectly fine
I kind of like that - a Shubb capo to go on my Fender guitar, plugged into my Marshall amp.
so they basically suck
but i would just find it annoying and inconvenient

I should probably check them both out in the flesh and see which I prefer...
its only a capo
As I've said, I have a cheap capo, and it's hassle moving it between frets because I have to screw it on and off every time, so I want something more convenient.
