at 27, pretty shit.
but i wouldn't want to see her get cancer
it's a horrible thing
ethics aren't about proof, you momo
wish death on as many people as you like, i couldn't really care less
Mart just happens to agree with cancer this time. I'm with him.
but cancer is worse
Can we not have a whole bunch of people wishing death on her and making jokes about cervical cancer?
Because this is one of the biggest open goals I've ever seen...
I was meaning the potential tsunami of crassness over the horizon
FUN FUN FUN
and let one lucky person go nuts on behalf of everyone.
hope things are cool
I don't think he would sell a fake cancer story on behalf of a client.
Or would he...? Nah.
even if my post below seems to imply that, reading back on it. I do wonder if Clifford isn't playing the game a little by talking it up on the radio, though.
that he wouldn't
publicist would just say "it's definately cancer" like that. It's fairly obvious early on with cervical cancer what grade and severity the disease is at.
If someone had 'collapsed and lost blood' as was claimed (and I'd assume that would be losing blood from the cervix) then it's pretty much incomprehensible that she'd have had 'tests' at the time and just heard back weeks later, during which time she was allowed to go abroad.
I'm mostly interested in this because I do some work about perceptions of cancer in the media, and that.
I don't reckon so. I reckon it could be the case that it's a low-grade diagnosis (which is nothing in itself to be sniffed at; the treatment'll probably mean that she can't have children) but that Clifford is going to roll with it.
Saying which I could be totally wrong. I've heard of women younger than her presenting with end-stage cases with a year left to live.
about how cancer is percieved in the media. You've tickled my interest bone.
a bit in response to zabakdaz's post down there..
get well soon. Nobody deserves this.
and it seems almost prophetic that this has happened now. The real trouble with the HPV vaccine is that it's a bit difficult to get people interested and motivated enough to understand what the virus is and why they're being vaccinated against it. HPV information is now going to be plastered over hundreds of 'popular' sources across the country. Those are the areas we find hard really hard to reach.
That's the positive side of it. There's a negative too; already in the BBC article they painted it as a 'young womans disease.' While more young women do get CC than most other types, it is most certainly not a young women's disease. The vast majority of cases is in women over 50. I think the publicity this is going to get could cause another 'Kylie' effect as with breast cancer; older women mistakenly stopped thinking they were at risk of breast cancer because it was a young women's disease.
and we've got post of the day already.
The treatment she'll receive will doubtless leave her infertile and regardless if she's had 2 bairns or not it's still a devastating procedure.
My heart really really goes out to her, kebabs, petty ill-informed schoolyard racism (which was more Jo O'Meara's fault TBH) and Z-list appearances aside. I have experienced the chronic fear and pain of a pre-stage procedure and the fact that her publicist is saying it 100% is cancer means it's the real deal.
I hope to god she gets 100% sorted out as she must be feeling frightened and upset right now. Remember she's a mum too. She's probably scared shitless for their future too.
This is no publicity stunt. It's just awful.
don´t joke about this sort of thing.
Is it? I wish I knew.................
i dont wish harm on her or anything, but i dont like her, and im not going to suddenly love her because shes got cancer.
no one deserves it, but i wouldnt worry about her more than anyone else either.
I just think that anyone who even thinks "well, look at that race thing, she's got her just desserts now" or folk who accuse this of being a great big publicity stunt deserves to take a long walk off a short pier.
i just dont really care about what celebrities do
She's in the public eye and to be honest, it was the public that put her there.
Noone needs to "care", it's just that it's not on to take massive potshots at her about her illness just because she's in every crappy magazine going.
Don't you think she did by going on BB in the first place?
but its gonna happen regardless i think.
Ill just stick to not really caring.
And then I felt really really bad.
