CRICKET

wrightylew [Edit] [Delete] 32 replies 17:42, 12 August '05
Am I the only person who finds it so utterly boring?

It has the atmosphere of a library.

This is quite a shite thread, but I need to know if I'm not the only person who thinks watching darts is more interesting?

I dislike cricket... it is so fucking tedious. When i see people cheering i just look all bemused trying to work out exactly what just happened!

Out for a duck you say!? Cobblers!

    • Re: CRICKET

you yourself have just explained that the reason you find it boring and tedious is because you simply don't understand it
your view on cricket just reminds me of people who say metal is shit without even ever having tried listening to it
      oui? non? innit!

  • Re: CRICKET

I don't like watching the cricket on TV. But then that's the way I feel about most sports.

Lumping it in with libraries, I'm afraid, is where you have lost me. Cricket is exactly the kind of thing I can have on in the background whilst reading. ie library atmosphere = good.

Darts is alright, but it's not a sport. It's a pub game.

Jesus, are you by any chance 'clinically' obese?

        Never thought I'd say that.

I never got Test Cricket. Is that where they try out other way's of playing the sport? Like having a lion chained by the boundry and small mines on the bit between the wickets so you have to dodge and weave your way through?

Oh...not funny in the slightest maybe? I know my sense of humour has been shot to pieces. Still don't know what test cricket is though.

They were near my house on Thursday at LCC so I was late for work with all the traffic. there were a lot of Aussies in town aswell.

I don't like cricket, it's just above bowls in the non excitement stakes.

It's the people who watch sports who are clinically obese

                      I am a skinny thang

I occasionally watch sports, but very occasionally

The whole supporting a team idea is silly, and I stopped that when I was like......12

                      • Re: CRICKET

cricket's great but it's something that you have to learn to appreciate. like real ale or fine wine.

there's nothing like being at a test match.

and it's just about the only sport where you can get other stuff done while watching it, without missing stuff.

                      hehe...

I like watching cricket, though I only really watch it at international level. I've been totally gripped to this ashes series.

                      • Re: CRICKET

anyone who is not gripped by the Ashes (this time round at least) is clearly cynically insane, I just can't have a productive day when the test cricket is on you just know you're going to miss something if you're not fully in tune with it all. The battle of wills between Pietersen and Warne, the graft of Bell, or unholy bludgeoning Flinoff gave the ball at Edgebaston you can't beat it, truely epic sport.

cricket is brilliant. Most of the nation is gripped by the cricket at the minute and absolutely no attention has been paid to the start of the football season. Saying that..its a matter of opinion, but all the people who dont like is only because they dont understand and cant be arsed to

As I both play cricket and am getting up at 5am tomorrow to fly to Manchester to watch the current match, I cannot offer a reasonable contribution to this debate.

Except to say that cricket is clearly the game they play in heaven. At least in summer, after the footy season.
