Usual Suspects innit
When the credits rolled I was happy.
Violated, but happy.
it was pretty bleak
'get ready for fun'
'more fun comin'
it's the fact that it's just so abrupt and full of ambiguity that makes it such a great ending to me.
Childs: So you're the only one who made it.
MacReady: Not the only one.
Childs: Did you kill it?
MacReady: Where were you Childs?
Childs: I thought I saw Blair... went out after him... got lost in the storm. The fire's got the temperature way up all over camp. Won't last long though.
MacReady: Neither will we.
Childs: Maybe we should try and fix the radio... try and get some help.
MacReady: Maybe we shouldn't.
Childs: Then we'll never make it.
MacReady: Maybe we shouldn't make it.
Childs: If you're worried about me...
MacReady: If we got any surprises for each other... I dont think were in much shape to do anything about it.
Childs: Well... what do we do?
MacReady: [slumping back] Why don't we just wait here a little while? See what happens.
bit on the urgh side but top ending
has to be, has to be!
Blade Runner - The Final Cut
House of Flying Daggers
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Amelie (for making a really obvious ending totally hard to spot)
And it turns out everyone ELSE is the ghost!
(donald sutherland version)
its 'independent' as well, i guess id rather it was something with a narrative rather than y'know 'films that arent about anything' to quote a wise man
rent 'wages of fear'. It's about 4 men driving 2 rival trucks full of nitro-glycerine over really bumpy roads. It was made in the 50s but it's still one of the best action films I've ever seen - it's got a narrative for starters.
it's a fundamental truth of fiction
I keep meaning to watch more tarkovsky.
I like the look of this:
andrei rublev is next on my list, i havent managed to make it all the way through mirror yet though gotta be in the right mood i guess
the bit at the end of stalker when they go into 'the room' or 'the zone' or whatever it was called and its all dunes and that hawk is flying about is my favourite thin ever in films
I lent this to a friend about 3 months ago. He still hasn't seen it. Some people.
some people huh
