Is it cool to keep them on? How many is too many? Is it just a bit dirty?
everyone else will say it is cool though
especially the Glasto style long dangly bits and a metal tube squased over them. I always get moaned at by security for cutting or burning the ends off.
I often remove mine on the last day.
but keep them along with the programmes.
I couldn't wear them for long, as I'd end up giving myself little paper cuts and slices when having a shower/drying myself afterwards.
I know people who've had ones on for two/three years
still has his Reading 2007 on
I currently have two on, my Dour one, on my right arm, from this year as I like the colours.
I also have the free weekend wristband from Summer Sundae on my left, which isn't as bad considering it's on right now and I'm too lazy to go.
but most of my friends reckon it's cool to keep them on. It's just a bit skanky really...they just go all dirty and never really come clean.
nope nope nope
It's just to show off really isn't it?
It's pretty dirty, a lot of my friends seem to do it but I had my Latitude one off before I'd even left the compound.
Unless you are 15 in which case I'll let you have it because you don't know any better and well done for getting moms to let you go.
I have mine all tied around the base of a lamp. It's starting to look like a muppet or some kind of hippy furniture piece made out of 'reclaimed material'.
and take them off if they start looking manky.
For me its more of a taste thing. Its bit of a tasteless thing to do strutting around with old wristbands. You know?
If I kept all mine on I'd have 8. That is silly.
are the uncool ones hoping for a little bit of cool by association. it's like a passport with lots of visa stamps i guess, but you don't have to take your passport in the bloody shower with you.
Its sad and pathetic to keep them on. The festival has finished, move on with your life.
but I usually keep mine on for a bit after the festival. My record is 6 months. It's a good conversation starter and a good souvenir. There's no hygeine issue since it GETS WASHED every time you have a shower.
Sadly, my Truck wristband came off in my sleep on Friday night :(
post reading. It ripped during chemistry so she decided to go home and sew it. she still wears it.
for about two months after, cos it was green, like my eyes.
for just over a month to see if it scored me any cute indie boys. it didn't.
where people can see it.
I've just never really thought about it. Bit weird now I do think. It's remained remarkably clean mind.
Why anyone would do any different baffles me.
on still, and id have glasto 07 if it didnt have superglue all over it.
I dont see what peoples problem with it is. Its not really something I do conciously, I just see no reason to take them off.
Also, to those who say its disgusting, they wash every time I wash, I take them off to prepare food if cooking for others, and disinfect them once in a while to make sure theyre okay.
at a mouldy 2 year old festival band?!
pigs flying would be more plausible
about once, maybe twice. but no, its not the main reason. I guess its mostly because I 'grew up' quite close to the festival site and its nice to wear something that ties you to the local culture (and glastonbury is a lot more local than you might think). Ive also still got my supersonic one on but thats plastic and its only been on a month at most. It will come off soon.
it's always sloppy, crusty knobheads who do this - you'll look a fool.
Anyone wearing one right now is nothing but a dreadlocked hippy.
Leave me be.
T in th Park 07 and 08
I just never got round to taking them off. I really dont see peoples problem with them, ther probably just as clean if not cleaner as any clothes you're wearing.
you're either the busiest person ever or that's the poorest excuse ever.
who has about 30 or so on. that looks cool - a whole sleeve of them. anything less is just lame, tho i do sometimes not feel like taking them off for a week or too
I've no idea why someone would do this. Don't security at festivals get fucked off with people with loads of wristbands on?
but it would be fantastic if i could make girls fancy me before i spoil everything with speech...
yeah it should probably go :(
Keep them on for ever and ever and everyone will see how cool you are and what a festival attender you are
I got hairy arms and festival bands pull the hair.
It's a bit shitty now though and im torn between keeping it on til it drops off, or cutting it and keeping it.
I like them, good memories.
Still got my Benicassim 2007 one on too.
because I don't like to. I don't care if other people do, but I find that they aren't the great conversation piece many people seem to think they are
'yeah great you have eyes, get them the heck off my arm you giant nitwit'
