reasonable start, bar Chef's catching and Andrew Strauss' wicket.
PREDICT THE DAY:
England 183-3 at the close. Cook and Pietersen the men out.
Tufnell's backing Swann, as seem to be a few experts, but i get the feeling there's groundswell of support for Rachid?
thank you pedant
FREE THE WETHERFIELD SPIN KING.
2 spinners in India, espeicali if the 2nd isn't good enough, which they won't be.
not that i'm surprised
for the second innings in the last Test I predicted Collingwood would score -14. You can imagine how stupid I felt.
the stupidness scale had to be extended to account for it.
and I said he'd get a century in that test match.
SA finish the day on 73-1.
"internet doom-merchants act annoyingly smug"
Shut up the lot of you.
Every time this gets bumped I think we've lost a wicket
I haven't predicted anything. I'm entirely to blame for KP's shot on 94.
If the DiS curse is true.
Jonathan Agnew has four Test wickets
They were: Aravinda De Silva (6361 Test runs), Arjuna Ranatunga (5105), Gordon Greenidge (7558), and Viv Richards (8540).
fucking idiot. Get off TMS.
I'm bumping this to see if I can cause a wicket
it feels very strange
made you look
comedy style, atherton-esque
they won't happen.
He'll get out trying to block Harris. Bat/pad catch.
And take Splangfoot with you.
for a few weeks. I'm looking a right plum at the moment.
Everything. Cards, walls, people, passing ships.
That's all that matters and we're "way ahead of the game".
Collingwood, Flintoff, Ambrose, Broad, Harmison, Anderson, Panesar collapsing ridiculously quickly though, can't you? That's the problem. Four wickets and you're into the top of the tail. And we won't often get 223 for the first 4.
I'm predicting about an 80-100 lead. Hopefully my pessimism will be as misplaced as it was yesterday.
we're desperately short in that department.
batting to 8 is not at all bad : )
they won't score test centuries, this puts too much pressure on the upper order.
basically. Once you've got four down the chances of a proper huge partnership are minimal. It's really not a good long-term strategy to keep going with five batsmen.
And I fear that it'll happen more times than not, yeah like you say the chances of a "huge partnership are minimal" there could be contributions here and there but it won't always be good enough. The top 5 aren't can't be expected to score big runs every innings, what if we're 70 odd for 4 (which will happen from time to time, you have to accept that).
SUPER TENTINI HAS KP BY THE NUTS!
Doesn't he bowl at about eight miles per hour?
Broad's due a failure.
Ambrose is actually worse than Geraint Jones isn't he?
yet to be convinced by his batting though.
His clown-arsed performance yesterday in letting the ball smack him in the noggin proves that. Still, at least he saved the runs on that occasion rather than letting the ball go through his gloves, which has happened too often this series.
he hasn't made that many errors, people really do expect too much sometimes. Compared to Prior he looks like the best wicket-keeper in the world.
Compared to Prior (and Jones) he looks like Bob Taylor.
freddy to play as a wicket keeper!
Broad to open, KP to take the new ball!
took the new ball in the last test...
or the one before maybe. or maybe the one before that...
given Strauss' form, Broad opening wouldn't be a bad move...
just needs to feel secure in his place in the team, so he can start playing a bit more expansively.
cook really needs to start making big scores when he's in...
Broad is not a batsman. So yes it would.
Strauss will be fine, he just needs to work on his technique outside off stump and to start playing a bit more naturally.
and leave them a bit uncomfortable overnight.
What's his highest test score?
that landed three seats away from me.
One more for the half century.
"I'm glad they got rid of the cosmetic huddle on the field, like little girls".
Boycs 4 PM!
after all this running
got a satnding ovation for a leg bye!
this is amazing
stick around for a ball or two
monty run out
How embarrassing for South Africa
I really don't
a genuinely dangerous new ball bowler, coupled with his ability to reverse it.
