The Berbatov/Villa partnership is working well.
Dos Santos is proving that his size won't limit his ability in the Premiership.
He's dropping off to Dimitar Berbatov's left, with additional support coming from Giovani Dos Santos on the opposite flank.
He says "'We', is it? You play for Spurs now, do you?" The bastard. Yeah, it's just a Pro Evo thing. We haven't *actually* signed Villa. Yet. I just moved him, Arshavin and Veloso all over to the club. So far, tried the following formations:
Hutton Woodgate King Bale
Bentley Veloso Modric Giovani
..Bentley Veloso Modric
Last one probably worked the best. Looks a little lacking in width, but Modric and Bentley drifted out wide a lot, Hutton and Bale overlapped and there was a lot of intelligent movement from the front three.
Almost scored with a sublime solo effort in the early stages, but his shot drifted just wide of the right-hand post after he'd beaten 3 opposition defenders. He and Berbatov seem to be constantly aware of each other's positions. Dos Santos appeared to struggle with the pressure of playing in a more advanced role, though. May make way for Villa at half-time.
along with Gilberto for Bale - concerns over the Welshman's fitness. Arshavin capped a fine performance with his first goal for the club. Veloso also opened his account with a deflected effort. Across both matches, the balance Modric and Veloso have produced in midfield has been extremely impressive.
not the game.
post evo 5. Defending is much harder these days. I used to rely on precision last ditch tackles rather than positioning or offside trap, which was risky but I got away with it due to impeccable timing. The same timing is now my downfall as every game turns into a yellow and red card-a-go-go and I end up losing horribly or having to forfeit.
I'm still awesome.
when you pick up a second booking for a challenge the computer decides to make on your behalf. Defending without getting sent off is generally a bit of a cunt on the later Pro Evos. Still love it though.
I still love it. I just miss being approximately 500 times better than all my friends and lording it over them, dancing wildly and shouting "I'm bigger than football!" after every 6-0 drubbing i dealt out. Happy times. Now I've sunk to their level.
with about ten people watching on. It was a proper humiliation and he hated every second. I pinpointed his weaknesses and exploited them mercilessly, banging them in from all angles. I thought he was going to smack me but he didn't - good times.
I think my friends would have probably turned on me after that. I can't even imagine the dance I'd be forced to do after a 20-0 win.
That's what I love about evo though: when you get really good at it your class just shines through.
I HATE YOU
you didn't need to explain yourself, even if you did hate Chelsea, why would it matter?
though to be fair FIFA has slowly been catching up, mainly due to there being precious little evolution going on in the next gen iterations of evo (that and EA stole the evo control system wholesale). I expect normal service to be resumed with the next update though: I have a sneaking suspicion Konami have been holding back till the PS3 got rolling. They don't give a fuck about 360, as PES6 proved.
FIFA does win out. And evo is harder, as it's all about learning and developing a style. But evo is definitely more realistic. The players react a lot more like real people, and smacking a 30 yard screamer into the top corner takes much more timing and skill than on FIFA.
