Is that how DiS rolls?
fat jokes are pretty funny
that whiterussian's arse created this morning
i probably couldn't see all the way to the top of the page because all the fat on me got in the way
are getting to have sex with the tenth person, but the tenth person doesn't like being brutally raped by nine people lol
It's funny because it's a really good bit of wordplay.
but it's rather long
they're both fine
things that aren't funny aren't jokes
by the beef burgers??
that made me laugh lots. me and my housemate have been doing that all week.
they're just unfunny jokes.
Theyre just a bit on the big side.
if theyre a twat and overweight= fat
LOL LOOK AT THE FATTIES STUFFING THEIR GREEDY FACES!
on the other side of the road?
and wanted to rape and then eat her?
Everyone stop being such a girl.
but it's not cool to offend/upset people
I'm pretty much impossible to offend
but sometimes people need to stop taking themselves so seriously and get a sense of humour
I don't find offensive, but if someone told a fat joke whilst I was with a "larger" friend I wouldn't appreciate it, I'm sure they wouldn't either though..
but then again why should anyone care about my opinion (or other people who dont like them)........unless you want to please me (like christians want to with jesus)
Personally i find myself questioning why anyone would fight to protect the freedom to make such jokes........yes ...if you insist 'freedom of speech and freedom of action' does mean that you can be nasty and behave however you want, irrespective of what others think....but really how would you suffer if you didnt tell such jokes...................................................people aften try to say that such jokes are like a litmus for freedom of speech or expression.......but I find taboo breaking jokes about the powerful or mighty are far more admirable and funny.
Jokes about serious misfortune tend not to be radical or clever....only very funny people manage to frame to highlight, such things that actually bring out the irony or subtleness of the point that they are ,making the humour about (like Chris Morris).
For me most people making such jokes tend to look slightly smaller people...which is a shame as many people I like and think are cool otherwise seem to do it just as others
About the Mohammed cartoons. The one thing that i never understood and was never mentioned was the fact that the cartoons were NOT funny - they were unimaginative and offensive in a lame, non sensical way. If they were funny, like most of the jesus jokes we hear about (which are usually based on jesus having magical powers and using them for earthly wants) then they would be worth defending. but all they were were cheap horribly offensive doodles that the west got all high and mighty about - western wankers
was completely beside the point. That's why it was never mentioned. There you go.
why do people love absolutism and believe so strongly in unwavering principles?
islamic and arab nationalism is a volatile stage in it's process but heck let's stoke hatred and stand by some shite cartoons in a far right local newspaper out of 'principle'
to things you agree with/find funny is just about the height of retardation.
i'm just arguing the 'common-sense' line. as much as i dislike 'common-sense' philosophy
' ' '' ''' ' '' ' ' '' ' '''' ' ' ''
it should be OK to make fun of a well-followed religion and you thought it was wrong to print those cartoons because you didn't think they were funny, it could be argued you're a hypocrite.
they were racist piss poor satires and therefore i don't think they were jokes about a well-followed religion. they were just purposefully inflammatory doodles.
Unlike say 'Piss Christ' which are offensive for the sake of 'art' and therefore ask us to think more about the sanctity of religion, they were just doodles for the sake of being offensive.
now to be honest i'm not keen on censorship and i don't support many muslims reactions to what happened but all i'm trying to say is that it wasn't really worth defending those stupid cartoons on the idea of principle.
and cool the beans
i need to go to the supermarket
...and an aspect of this fictitious role-playing is to highlight your assailable nature by preying on the weak?
Dont worry, 'I know you' and i like you although i know i should dislike you for your 'abrasive ofensiveness to some things' i suppose that i can detect that your soul is altogether softer and fluffier than you portray
But the veneer is your typical prickly pear. That's the way it should be.
If Mirri had started her original thread about rape jokes in the day time it would have been a different story, I reckon.
The night shift is always more 'controversial'.
It has just amused me that Mirri got a bit of a mauling for suggesting rape jokes weren't funny, but people are pretty quickly annoyed when someone laughs at a picture of a fat child. They aren't the same thing of course though.
A proper dissection of what is funny and appropriate would yield nothing anyway.
Though the central argument seemed to actually be caused by her and pigfoot arguing totally separate things without actually realising.
she got criticised for dealing with any disagreement with personal insults.
but the point I'm making is that virtually everyone who posted in that thread did disagree with her and criticise her points (including me)
personally i don't find real, personal suffering funny, but some people do
you're not as funny as you think you are.
but I decided to take your post literally for the purposes of ironic 'humour'.
with shit humour. That hardly counts as 'on your fucking case all day'. You shall have no satisfaction from me, sir! Damn your eyes!
Theo is probably the biggest cock that I know.
what did I miss?
a new troll for the board. just what we need
No one on here really gives a shit what you or I think. I just reply to threads in a way that is either vaguely informative or vaguely humouress. Often the 'new guy' is my witless foil for the latter type.
Also I don't really believe in 'new users'. They're all just old users coming back in a different persona. You're probably just Pieces of Reece's latest username :D
unless preceded by "yo mamma"
nah, doesn't work.
This scattergun approach to humour has it's downsides
Not that I'm bothered...I'm always surrounded by smokers.
you might not be funny, but thats besides the point.
you cant pick and choose which things people can joke about based on what does and doesnt apply to you.
if it becomes a case of targeting someone to make them feel bad, then its a different story, but if its just stupid jokes not aimed at anyone i dont think you can really get annoyed about them.
That's actually entirely the point. Everything should be up for lampooning as part of humour, but if you make what you think is a joke and it's not funny then you can't wash your hands of the situation by saying 'it's a joke'.
Comedy is not a synonym for freedom of speech.
and what one person finds funny another might not. that doesnt mean you should limit what people can and cant joke about.
make T-Shirts with funny slogans when he was younger. This first one he told me he was going to make was:
"Stop rape. Say yes!"
