Anyone ever get the impression they're stuck in a big, unsolvable cosmic joke? A few weeks (well, a month?) ago I decided I wanted a debit card I could use abroad and in train stations, or well my parents kept nagging me to before I went to Sweden, but either way, I went to the bank and demanded a Connect card. Initially this was all done, but then they didn't have the right ID so couldn't. Also I moved back to Manchester the following day, so couldn't go in again in Winchester (this was in Winchester, see).
So then I went to the branch in Manchester. When I first asked for the card they said they could get me one easily, then seeing as I needed it soon I thought I should change my correspondence address to where I was staying temporarily in Manchester (apparently this is a really bad idea, according to my dad, but anyway they wanted me to have this card, so fuck them). Only then THEY didn't have the right ID (even though I specifically asked them if they needed any, because of what had happened before), so I had to go back, and then they kept on insisting I get a student bank account, which I didn't have before, so I got one to shut them up because it came with the card I wanted, only then they lost my student ID, I think its still there but I haven't been bothered to go get it back yet (probably should mind).
Anyway despite changing my correspondence address, all my stuff was still sent to my parents house, except for a cheque book and pin number, so I didn't have the card in Sweden as it was. That sucked in itself, but then as it turned out the pin number they sent me doesn't work with this new card, and now my old card has stopped working, I think to accomodate the new one, so I can't get money out. And the bank also sent me a letter telling me my account had been suspended over a month ago, and yet it all still works, so I'm like: wtf?
Anyway thanks for reading, my bank is a piece of disorganised scum, what should I do to sort this whole mess out? I need to be able to get money out.
