Endlessly whinging about the weather

usa_nails [Edit] [Delete] 31 replies 10:51, 29 July '08

The temperature shifts 4 degrees either direction and its either 'worst summer in living memory I mean its barely even summer', or otherwise 'blistering heatwave continues, country is scorched beyond recognition and its basically like living on Mercury'.

Moaning about the weather. Give it a rest. Its just a bit warm. Its summer. It happens every year.

  • Hasn't the UK

Got the right of every man to moan about the weather written into law?

  • Nah

The last two days (in Central London at least) have been really uncomfortable because of the weather. It isn't a matter of preferring one kind of weather to another.

    • I just don't think its that hot

Its warm, but by no means unbearable. It just seems as though as soon as the temperature goes above 25 people start acting as though they're in Soylent Green or something.

      usa_nails @DanielKelly | 29 Jul '08, 11:04 | X
      • I disagree

Saturday, Sunday and Monday were obviously bearable in the literal sense, because here I am. But the humidity made breathing and sleeping much more laboured.

    • its being in the city

london is so polluted it makes hot weather far worse... it was about 94 when i was in memphis and far more comfortable, just cleaner fresher hotness...plus they actually have air conditioning

        • I dunno

I'm not finding being in the city to be that bad..like I say, its just nice and warm. Ho hum

          • you're proabably unemployed and sit

around all day doing nothing. Us workers sweat you know.

            • Sadly I'm one of 'us workers'

although its true I often find time to sit around doing nothing. Hence being here when I should be working. And sweating, with us workers.

          • getting on the tube

at rush hour is probably the worst thing ever. I sweated all over the woman in front of me yesterday and had to get off a stop early because I was embarrased.

  • people do moan about the weather a lot more here.

but then, when it gets hot here you don't know how to cater for it.

    • Its engrained in our national psyche

to complain about anything, even good stuff like the weather. A friend wants to move to Perth (in Australia, not Scotland) but said she can't sleep at the moment because of the unbearable heat. Ha.
