I don't trust, respect, or value anything you have to say, ever.
Partly because i don't see how it could possibly be better.
Ricky Gervais does not appear once.
people who have a different sense of humour suck.
They're both good but in totally different leagues. The british office is amazing. Anyone who says otherwise is comedically stunted
it just aint as good I acctualy agreed with you on something wow.
I would still trust them though and respect them maybe even value...
gervais is so good as Brent and all the other charecters are spot on too.
the american one. i prefer the more absurdist humour. and what's not to love about steve carrell.
i love the british one.
is too incredible. he tips the balance. dwight is pretty funny, but gareth is amazing
as bowski says, but it never got the essence of the english one. the interpersonal shit, mostly the awkwardness, just never materialized like it did with the original.
the spirit building episode is pure genuis.
& not to mention they ended it with dignity. they didn't let it run on & on & on like the american is now doing. rehashing the same shit, getting people out of character to further new episodes... i can't watch it anymore.
is miles better than any of the others. The second of the UK one marginally better than the US one and the Christmas specials the worst of the lot by some way. I was open-mouthed through a lot of that.
it was almost painful to watch david's deterioration. but it was much more realistic than the american; correll comes off as humoursly moronic, whereas david simply fell apart. it was pretty sadistic.
was absolutely evil.
is so much more than just a comedy, its perfect in every way.
so you can all go fuck yourselves.
but I prefer Jim and Pam to Tim and Dawn.
but Jim and Pam are so monumentally great that it almost makes it a completely different thing. Plus Michael and Dwight are quite quite funny.
The American one only became really good when it stopped trying to be a direct facsimile of the UK version. Once they ran out of reheated storylines and got a bit more outlandish, as opposed to the original's realism, it really started to hum along - I'd put series 3 almost on a par with the second series of the UK one.
But as a perfectly formed thing, and being the original, the UK version has to be the superior item. But I still think Dwight's funnier than David Brent....
and take Frasier and Faamily guy with you on the way out.
Absolutely perfect in capturing the listlessness of an office. The atomsphere it so brilliant.
I saw the pilot once, and it had a narrator... it felt very odd.
version recently- it's got some good jokes in it, but I feel like cringing every time I see an imitation of the English version- like when Jim does the Tim face.
