really fascinating question about temp workers (12 weeks centric)
i remember hearing a few weeks ago about an incoming law for temp workers, whereby if you'd been working as a temp in a particular job for 12 weeks they had to give you the full benefits of people in similiar positions to you, including a similiar wage to people in your position
Did this ever go through? As an unambitious bum i've spend the best part of my post-grad life working for a pittance, but now i'm finally in a job where i deserve a decent salary (pretty much single handledly running a million pound project) and they really can't afford to just hire someone else after the 12 weeks (since i'm too good, as they keep telling me)
So, is this something any of you have heard about? Did i just miss all the genunews articles on it?
i should probably post this during the day, but i'm too busy being a businessman n ting
