DiScuss the shit out of that
its on the information superhighway
with all the premiere stuff.
i'm pretty excited.
can distort the reviews. The newer Star Wars bounced up and down it for months till it settled out.
It still has far less votes than a lot of the other top films. Hopefully the ratings will become a bit more rational, or I'll watch it and realise it is one of the best films ever. Probably the former.
It's about fucking Batman.
its only a 12a isn't it
of the summer blockbusters have stunk up the show??
2. batman is a shit superhero anyway
since when is a film being aimed at a specific audience a bad thing?
2. Batman isn't a superhero. I generally HATE comic book films, but I may well end up seeing this because Batman is generally the only comic book hero I can stand
neither do nerds or action fans. If it's aimed at them, it won't be that good.
I now know never to trust your opinions on films.
honestly and truthfully...you've always seemed pretty nerdy to me
at the end
You are substantially more nerdy than me with your carefully constructed "scathing" put downs and last.fm blogs.
I bet you like the goonies.
I've never seen them.
Lack of a TV etc
You should feel embarrassed, not mean, because you're wrong.
I don't actually know YOU so you could be lying.
But I'll agree to be being wrong if I don't have to pretend to feel embarrassed?
Nerdiness is dictated by your attitude, not your actions. Can't a boy enjoy a bit o' maths and not be punished for it?
But if I can admit that...can you not admit that some Kids/Sci-Fi/Action films can be great?
are not automatically linked. Society has constructed this stereotype to deal with it's insecurity in the face of something it finds difficult. I stand up for the cool maths men and women I have met, they are a small but worthy band of brothers.
are people older than you
Why are you telling me?
its hyped considering how good the last film was.
to be biased towards newer films.
The Godfather will be no#1 again
as an example of how it is stupidly biased towards newer films
Wall-E in the top 30 of all time?
Sin City in the top 100
Juno in the top 250
was a publicity stunt.
Mark my words, he'll be found wandering on a beach in seven years time suffering from amnesia, be gradually reintroduced back into society, and then take up playing the tuba
I sawed his funeral...
people GOING to his funeral
have shares in the pharmaceutical company that make the drugs that killed Heath Ledger.
cos frankly most people don't share your taste.
what are the best 20 superhero films
which is the best batman film
have you seen the dark knight
what is heath ledger's best role
im not rly sure that saying that this film isnt heath ledger's best role really matters that much other than letting you say 'these excitable journos got it dead wrong', idk though i havent seen it, do you mean he's not actually that good in it or something?
batman returns is pretty good, i watched it on tv recently, i never noticed all the lewd jokes before
im tempted to say that list probably validates fullerov's comment about your taste, maybe thats unfair idk, seems just a bit like you like superman more than batman to me...
Because I think people will care about it.
It sounds pretty absurd, as far as superhero films go:
"Heath Ledger's bravura performance will glitter for as long as movies exist."
"Pitched at the divide between art and industry, poetry and entertainment."
"Christopher 'Slowly Revealing Myself To Be God' Nolan has done it again."
"I'm tired of the early Oscar talk too, but when you're talking the best performance in years, if not decades, it's worth talking about."
"The Dark Knight is a masterpiece, easily the strongest effort in the history of its genre and one of the best movies of the decade."
I, for one, don't believe the hype. I expect a decent action film and nothing more.
people tipped Ledger for an oscar in february!
I kinda think it must me at the least very good
But that still doesn't make me a bit wary. People tend to get a bit over-enthusiastic after somebody's died. I just don't expect what other people seem to be, which is the Second Coming.
The audience that bums the new film are the same types who will log onto IMDB and out geek each other.
Of course there is a bias towards modern films. You are not going to get 100,000 people deciding to give "Sweet Smell Of Success" 8/10 or "Doctor In The House" 4/10.
It works the other way too. Earlier on this year they had "The Hottie and the Nottie" as the worst film of all time. Substantially more people had voted on this than had actually seen it.
