which songs would you love to hear at a club night? which ones are boring and over-played? do people actually enjoy hearing comedy songs (cartoon/film themes etc? cheers :)
Plus: Waterfall, There's No Other Way, Shine On, That First Single Off the Second Strokes Album I Cant Remember The Name Of, I Predict A Riot (I like that, but im fed up with it), My Sharona (that might just be me)
yeah lousy indie disco. im having a party on saturday evening. bring yer vinyl and you can play it, open decks, free for all. i think i'l play some liars, melt banana, martini henry rifles, mclusky, part chimp, tiffany, annie, help she cant swim, taylor dayne, 80s matchbox, big black, youth movies, sonic youth, girls aloud, beastie boys, pff, probably some pixies too...
Pretty much everything described as an 'indie disco staple' is, in my experience, FUCKING TIRED OLD HORSESHIT that has no place in anything but the most turgid conservative provincial student club night.
Sorry I have strong feelings on the subject. Haha.
What songs would I love to hear in a club? how about some dance music? to group an incomprehensibly large variety of amazing music under one overly-broad heading.
OK that was a bit too snarky. I dunno. Play and dance to whatever you like. But that's my opinion, based mainly on bitterness at lots of shitty student nights out having to try and put up with the same old RATM/Pixies/ATDI/Weezer/Stone roses/Strokes/Nirvana/etc tracks played into the ground until I could barely stand them.

I also requested 'Uncontrollable Urge' by Devo, which is perhaps the finest party starter of all, but they didn't play that either.
