Please, no more Here Comes Your Man! The Pixies have a wealth of pop musix that are ace.

There's no way to kill an atmosphere like putting Smells like Teen Spirit on.

          Droooooooone.

I'm sorry, I want to have fun, not blow my head off.

They should play the Polysics version of My Sharona, that'd be ace!

I requested that at the After Skool thingy at LSE once, they didn't play it :(

I also requested 'Uncontrollable Urge' by Devo, which is perhaps the finest party starter of all, but they didn't play that either.

tip for anyone planning an indie disco - play music thats actually dancable

for example seven nation army is not a dancable song...and no matter how many times you put it on you can't change that

    • Re: indie disco staples...

Pretty much everything described as an 'indie disco staple' is, in my experience, FUCKING TIRED OLD HORSESHIT that has no place in anything but the most turgid conservative provincial student club night.

Sorry I have strong feelings on the subject. Haha.

What songs would I love to hear in a club? how about some dance music? to group an incomprehensibly large variety of amazing music under one overly-broad heading.

      • Re: indie disco staples...

OK that was a bit too snarky. I dunno. Play and dance to whatever you like. But that's my opinion, based mainly on bitterness at lots of shitty student nights out having to try and put up with the same old RATM/Pixies/ATDI/Weezer/Stone roses/Strokes/Nirvana/etc tracks played into the ground until I could barely stand them.
