i'm going to lille tomorrow for one day. what should i do?
There isn't much else to do there, from memory.
what are drink prices like?
*really as 'lilly good' and then 'really good'.
It's only a local little place, not London/City prices.
They've got a big shopping centre too, I think.
what are the meats/vegetables and stuff like? am i allowed to bring back meat to london?
It's just like any high street shopping centre, nothing amazing. I don't think any meat or plants are allowed over border control, no.
i want to buy a massive piece of cow to bring back for dinner. ah well. i'm going to eat lots of moules frites.
hur hur. but seriously, yes, i will bring back a huge brie. do you want one mirri?
I just brought a load of meats/cheese/cake/plants back from France. Saying that customs & excise at ferry ports always seems non existent..
i'm excited about bringing back meat now!
I have literally no recollection of it whatsoever, which leads me to draw certain conclusions
take a camera and hope for nice weather?
for the camera but my girlfriend has a big camera with a big lens. i checked the weather for tomorrow on macbook and it seems similar to london.
take hers! big camera + big lense = probably good pictures!
she's good at taking pictures too. she even has a flickr!
Are you getting those cheap ryanair flights for like, a tenner? i was going to do that, but i opted for Brussels instead.
it's a lot easier but not a tenner unfortunately :( it was 55 return...
im doing that for brussels, actually! i was gonna fly, but mother opted for paying! london prices across to europe are pretty decent. I mean, 55 return isn't a tenner, but it's still rad. and less hassle with airports.
and i've never been on the eurostar before so i'm excited. do you have to come to london to get the train or what?
so the whole round trip price goes from like, £50, up to £90! Unfair! one day i hope they do some massive cheap rail line all down the uk. that would be RAD. still, i think i only have to change once (and in london), until im in brussels, so its not too bad. with all these crappy delays / stricter searches at airports now, you might as well get the train.
I've never been on the eurostar either! Well looking forward to it.
and ask him if he'll join West Ham. I fucking love Michel Bastos.
i'll let you know how i get on.
although this is a stupid question as it doesn't mean anything in english and possibly not even in french, i wouldn't know.
Wazem, its a pretty cool quater with lots of nice little bars and some cool galleries. I was there a few weeks ago, its a nice city. Not too much to see but still worth the trip.
Also I would recommend going in September when people from all over the region come to sell any of their old or unwanted possesions on the street. Everyone gets drunk and there are sound systems everywhere. Although you may end up making some foolish purchases.
braderie or something, right? i would go in september but...i'm kind of already going tomorrow. i might go back in september if i like it.
is this wazem thing easy to find? we're gonna rent segways.
I spelt it wrong though. Its Wazemmes. It's about 20 minutes walk from the centre or the closet stop on the metro is Gambetta. I think they have a market tomorrow, which is one of the things the area is famous for. Hope you enjoy your trip.
I think it's a colour
Lille is France's fourth largest city - around 700.000
the big shopping complex lies between the two "gares" (stations) of Lille Europe and Lille Flandres
