and i didnt get the fucking job. fucks sake.
what was it?
i failed because i didnt show enough empathy to a pretend customer in a pretend call, without being told they were looking for empathy.
im not a fucking magician for fucks sake i just wanna work in a call centre.
Summer only? That's a pretty low ambition. Only "I have a burning ambition to post local free newspapers through the public's door" is lower.
and yeah it was just for a few months
I know you're doing a law degree so you can make real use of ambitions and not do freesheets.
Always remember, it could be worse: imagine 5 hours for delivering papers!
Still, at least you've had something to do for a day. I'm sure you'll get a job next week.
im thinking supermarkets are the next port of call unfortunately.
you're not dishing out therapy, just answering a fucking phone. as long as you sound polite and all that crap, then it's fine.
generally, if you show empathy to someone on the phone, the cunt will be on for the next hour.
unless it was at a samaritans call centre or something, of course...
i had a woman on the phone for nearly 45 minutes talking about how she wanted to top herself. ALL I WANTED TO DO WAS SELL HER PIPE INSURANCE.
five hours? why? sounds like they take themselves too seriously anyway. and that's NEVER good in a call centre...
an interview, presentation, written exam bollocks, a role play thing and a tour of a place ill never see again. waste of fucking time.
that is fucking ridiculous
just takes the piss
are you good on phones? i'm shit personally, but that's a bummer
i dont like them really, b ut just want some money its annoying that a 5 hour interview went wrong on a 4 minute role play.
Other people were better suited.
5 hours seems excessive and a waste of time though.
You didn't get a job you didn't really want so it's not the end of the world.
A pub job woulb be more fun surely.
i worked in one last summer it was pretty good, but they changed managers, and all the other pubs ive been too havent got back to me.
I'm almost sure if you go back to a few, one of them will just give you a job.
trust me, I've been at one for 2 and a half years...
It really is soul destroying.
i had a similar experience last week sometime, two interviews though... only to be told i seemed to enjoy my admin past too much
the guy behind the counter said 'you dont wanna work here mate, pays terrible, customers are wankers and the job is really soul destroying, but if you come back in two weeks you can have my job'
way to sell it
I went on work experience to a school in Barnsley. Their lab tech had applied for the self same job and been passed over for me. I hadn't the heart to tell her that I hated the work and she was better of for failing the interview.
A couple of years ago when I applied, I phoned the 02 call centre up for an interview, and when he asked me how many days off I'd taken in the past year, I told him three and he said I couldn't have an interview because it was excessive! So, you may have failed the interview, but I failed the pre-interview! Does that make you feel any better?!
