I want to make a good impression, straight people find me repulsive so I'm hopinh
Insert advice below:
In my experience there are two types of gay guys.
1. The people who define themselves as gay. Everything they do is about being gay. Watching the telly the only comments they will make is whether blokes are fit or not. If there was a X-Men 3 style 'cure' for being gay and thewy hit by it, they wouldn't know what to do with themselves.
2. People who just happen to like having sex with members of the same sex.
If they're 1, expect most of the conversation to revolve around how they are gay. If they're 2, it'll just be a night out with some different people
so black and white but quite accurate in my experience.
I have a couple of gay mates who are straighter than I am.
Which don't hold stead. But it's mostly been my experience
i wasn't taking it seriously but in my experience there are these 2 groups but there must also be a fair bit of grey in between, i just haven't seen much of it yet.
although it's bascially the same as anyone who defines themselves by anything (sexuality, religion, race, nationality, music taste etc.) - it quickly gets pretty tiresome and seems odd they don't appreciate the fact they're invididuals in their own right.
My girlfriend is quite a 'scene' lesbian and I'm not at all. We're averaging each other out which is I am told pretty unheard of
Well not all of them, in particular the one that screamed at me in the toilets of ghetto once because I was apparently undermining her by apparently looking at her funnily for being in the bloke's loos (funny because I don't remember looking up from the urinal - standard toilet behaviour) and finished with "FUCK OFF RAPIST!". So when I'm around lesbians I'm kind of Pavlovian afraid they'll scream horrid things at me
HARD TO BEAT.
always using the phrase 'the gays' will become incredibly tired as a joke and that people might take quite reasonable offense to it's over-use?
Sorry, i know i shouldn't be so serious.
Oo-er! Don't forget to wave your hands like a happy 'camp'er!
disagree with your point entirely.
I just think that once or twice can be shrugged off as ironic ribbing, but after a while it sounds less like a joke and more like someone who thinks that all gay people are the same.
As i said, i probably shouldn't take it seriously. Previous experience would also suggest that internet forums are terrible places to debate this sort of thing.
Let's all just bum and be happy!
Very good! And very true!
I don't think so. Don't be all "straight" around them though.
they're all gay and stuff, sexuality is obviously the most important thing about anyone.
Sorry Frank, you've lost me.
and always use plenty of lube.
had a gay mate who owned a Steps album.
When I pointed out how camp it was of him, he had a right go for suggesting that he was camp.
'I am the least camp homosexual I know!'
He wasn't happy.
Colin and Justin = Camp
"trash" is a legitimate musical genre reference when talking about Kylie, Maddonna and Girls Aloud
(and yes, he is very obviously gay)
described his music taste as "girlie metal like Kittie and Hole" and went on to say how much he liked Nightwish.
I want to be his friend
But when he said "oh I like girlie metal", I replied sarcastically "Oh, like Kittie, Jack Off Jill and Hole?", and he didn't think I was being sarcastic. He let out a little noise of delight and drummed his hands on the bar.
Stay away from the swimming pool.
I'm a liberal minded man, but I have never forgiven the friend that made me go in there
and Russian rent boys
Os desribed it to as 'not nice' though.
Seriously though who described this thread as homophobic? Its one of the least offensive things i've seen. And I speak for all homosexuals.
in fact, I'm pretty sure he suggested it. The toilets are pretty legendary in an infamous way.
It has an MP3 jukebox with a really cool lo-fi section which we wasted £2 on. They didn't play any of our choices :(
Or should I just extrapolate what the rest of the place was like and place it in a toilet context?
You'd have maced them in the face and hit your personal alarm within 5 seconds.
just be you duh
and i go to gay (or at least gay friendly) clubs very often.
Oooh look at how liberal and open minded i am! ha.
Yeah just be yourself, or rather be nice. My advice to anyone meeting new people.
or they can be rubbish.
Just like other places.
I do like Trash Palace, or Traah Palaah as I'm told I'm supposed to pronounce it.
And I once had one of the best nights out EVER in Popstarz
Popstarz / Red Eye were AWESOME.
