"It's a small world innit?"

theetersecrimp [Edit] [Delete] 16:44, 8 July '08

On my way back from Hitchin on Sunday evening, a hideously chavvy girl sat opposite me on the train and started talking to me about her birthday, and how last year she ended up in hospital getting her stomach pumped (which, in her words, was "well wicked"). I tried to get her to lose interest by staring intently at the book I was reading, but to no avail. For some reason, she asked if I knew someone called Shane Davin, who is in fact my cousin. When I told her this she then told me he was her cousin too (I'm not sure how this works, I think they may be second cousins), and found the whole thing amazing.

"It's a small world innit?!"

Sadly, it is. And this isn't the first time this sort of thing has happened, especially with relatives.

Does anyone have any interesting anecdotes similar to the story above?
