ever been a member?
i currently am. it's a massive effort and clusterfuck of wasted paper to try to get free money.
when I was on it.
The paperwork is tiresome.
thought about it when i left university - but i was living with my parents, and got a job fairly quickly.
typical of me really: i could have done but i couldnt be bothered filling in the forms...
never again though, it's always full of degenerative no-hopers
good morning job seekers!
"I want to be a fireman, Pauleeeeen!"
you don't even know how to drive!"
"I can learn!"
"IN A FIRE ENGINE?"
I have to take "three steps a week". Not that I'm entirely sure what counts as a step...
though only for about a month after leaving uni. It's not something I'd want to do again, since it was such a palaver to actually find out what I was entitled to. Plus, job centre staff are some of the rudest cunts on Earth.
imagine all tha cunts they have to deal with. Their arse will be in the cue if they allow repeat abusers of the system to keep getting away with benefits. Your totally right though!
but the bloke I kept having to deal with (some dreadlocked tosser called Steve) was the most infuriating, pedantic twat I've ever had to deal with, even though I did everything that was asked of me. I really hope I never have to go back on the dole.
Now I work for a company who try and help people find work.
there is in Rusholme
quite proud of that fact.
Hate working sooooo much though.
and yes the paperwork is quite annoying. I got a letter this morning telling me i was yet to fill in another form.
Plus they are very specific as to when my official leaving date for uni was. I told them in the interview the day i submitted my last assignment but apparently that wasnt my official leaving date!
Also does anyone know if the allowance comes in? I heard somewhere it was upto 6 weeks, but the staff at the job centre said it should arrive as soon as all the paperwork is sorted.
'Also does anyone know WHEN the allowance comes in?'
then it's every week after that?
I think it took them about a month before I saw any money, by which time I'd found a job anyway.
I just got a temping job instead.
...works out so much better for being on it when you're unemployed apparantly...mainly due to expalining absences of not working in cv's which employers seem to have a grudge against. and also non payment of national insurance..im on it at the moment, only for the fact im back home for the summer, and jobs are more difficult than harder to come by.
