In front of pretty much all of Edinburgh as they were making their way to work.

I was cycling down towards a busy junction, bypassing a long line of stationary traffic who were waiting at the lights. I was aware that the lights were close to changing so i had to nail it to get to the front so i could cut back in. However as i approached the front of the queue, i cycled onto a patch of gravel/broken glass which as it turns out is not conducive to successful braking. Sure enough, I skidded and despite my most desparate efforts (which undoubtedly made the whole thing look worse), fell foward and landed alongside a motorbike, with my rucksack ending up on my head, comedy-style. I got up and lloked around, realsing there was no redeeming the situation. The guy behind gave me a pitying thumbs-up, whilst clearly amused at my plight, whilst the motorcyclist did nothing, except pass him/herslef off quite convincingly as the bird from the zovirax advert.

So yeah, great start to the week.

Can anyone beat this monday morning?
