The Orkney Islands / Neolithic Britain

doctornovocalcords [Edit] [Delete] 21:20, 16 June '08

Has anyone been? I have just been up there and it was fucking amazing. Hardly any people, bizarro Scando-accents, narrow main streets with no pavements but bordered by houses so forcing you to cower in doorways as cars go by, traffic being held up by motability scooters, beautiful entirely deserted bays and beaches, lots of cows, desolation, amazing Neolithic settlements, stone circles and tombs and tons of birds I have never seen before. Also a killer whale making an appearance in front of the highest sea cliffs in Britain.

It's made me want to observe more prehistory. I think Avebury will be next.
