Wont do any publicity for the Hulk as he is unhappy with the final cut. What a dreadful cock!
told everyone their self-titled, proper debut album (excluding the Three EPs) was "shit" during publicity for it, I guess?
but Hot Shots II was fantastic so i'll let 'em off
They paid him shit-loads to do it. This is the least he can do, the ungrateful pretentious wanker!
and wasn't given a script credit even after doing the work.
I suppose if he is unhappy then The Avengers might be off then... :(
the studio were probably smart enough to sign him up for another film beforehand.
i love how he cant play any other character apart from mentally tortured city type. amazing.
american history X?
but his point is still poppycock
He doesnt have to do these films and surely he reads the fucking script before he commits to a project. He's just the classic example of an 'artist' that believes they can do everybodys job better than anyone else. Actors shouldnt have any power whatsoever.
brothers gotta make a living.
im certain its a lot more pleasant to do that than it is to work in a chicken factory.
things could always be worse, so by that logic people could never criticise anything
how does it affect you if he doesn't think the film is good and doesn't want to promote it?
Im merely throwing a critique at what i believe to bratty, unprofessional behaviour. It annoys me that people like him are paid ridiculous amounts of money to do something as silly as acting - and then moan about it. But hey, im sure i'll get over it.
but just because people get paid lots of money, and have a relatively great job, doesnt mean they forfeit the right to not be entirely happy all the time
but hes paid a ridiculous amount because he is a good actor. This is a case of him not just taking the paycheck and shutting up like 90% of actors and actually being disappointed because he wanted to make a good film.
If he was a musician whose label had put out a greatest hits which he didnt like i doubt you would have the same disdain.
so he should just shut up and put up? i'm sure that he has a contract to ensure "professional" conduct, and either he's breaking it and will be penalised, or he's not and it's not unprofessional
im on his side
Fat blokes dont move too fast.
bet it would well hurt
this is entirely reasonable. Why should he put his name to something he thinks is shit? He obviously has some artistic integrity and was disappointed with what they did with the film.
but he seems to do it an awful lot. He should just shut up and do as he's told. Actors = Cattle! Nice one Hitchcock!
I think that ones been well and truly established here darling.
Orange juice is the devils urine!
In a media culture where everything is advertised to the extreme, forced down our throats with excessive hyperbole and massive spin, it's charming to hear someone who takes a passionate interest in their profession as a craft and an artform standing up and criticising it for being substandard.
I've seen a million actors on gormless chatshows spewing tripe about how great their latest film is, even though a child could ridicule it for being completely awful. Ed Norton clearly cares about producing something he can be proud of, and Hulk hasn't come up to an acceptable standard. Good on him for cutting out the bullshit.
Yes he's been paid a fuckload for his role - but what does that have to do with it? He's damaging his reputation in Hollywood by proving himself as a loose cannon with the potential to undermine his own projects, so he clearly values his artistic credentials over his commercial ones. Long live Ed Norton.
apart for his "performance"...
Might be the reason he's unhappy...
but seeing his reputation, maybe they cut the worse...
He's got the reputation to act very badly in blockbusters : he got paid a lot, then do bad acting, then complain the movie is shit...
and he is excellent in them. that what im judging him by, not peoples interpretations of what might be going on
he's been awful in every blockbusters is been in, so far...
So he should think either to stop doing this kind of movies or to stop accusing others from his poor performances in this movies...
nowhere has actually he stated he is unhappy with the film/the editing etc. hes fallen out with the producers, and it has not been stated why. he doesnt want to promote the film, so it could be that he doesnt like how his performance has come across and therefore doesnt want to go round saying how happy he is with the film.
He's just so obviously not for this kind of movies...
I was under the impression that it is total trash.
It was a bit meh
But at this stage of his career, he should know that blockbusters aren't for him ( and his way of acting ) and should stay away from them instead of signing a contract and complain later that he isn't happy about the results...
This rumour was debunked weeks ago. There's loads of promo footage featuring Ed Norton floating around on the interweb. Empire, I think, posted a video of him interviewing Liv Tyler.
Apparently the tone of the film was too dark, which necessitated a majority of scenes being cut, and caused the angst between Norton and the studio. According to Letterier the DVD will reinstate almost 70mins of footage.
there's a whole section in which Banner travels to the Antarctic with the intention of ending his gamma-irradiated life, but ends up discovering the frozen remains of Captain America, which was cut entirely. One of the journos over at Ain't it Cool claims to have seen finished movie stills of The Hulk fighting a killer whale when he visited the studio, and if you look closely there's snowy bits in some of the early trailers.
Yes, before anyone points it out, I am well aware that I am a massive geek.
i know that's how they brought him back into the Avengers/then current Marvel continuity back in the silver age but it seems a bit out of place in a film. they usually each live in their own seperate "worlds"
Marvel have set up their own movie studio which means they're now able to combine their franchises without worrying about which studio owns the rights to which character and whatnot. Their big aim is to release an Avengers movie in 2010/11; the Iron Man, Hulk, Thor and Ant-Man movies are basically Marvel's way of paving the way for a massive Avengers Movie.
why not give Scarlett Witch, Vision and Quicksilver their own features as well?!
I hadn't heard that - I'd read that their might be an Avengers film but hadn't taken much notice because I don't really like crossover super teams like them and the JLA.
I'm not sure how well it would work as a movie, they don't really have the same suspension of disbelief that you get in a comic. Sure for 90min/2hrs you might be able to accept that someone has built a flying robo-super suit with lasers in the palms but for then to have him team up with a recently defrosted WW2 veteran, a norse god, and others (loser heroes who couldn't justify their own series) seems a bit too much.
with Sam Jackson as Nick Fury (based the Ultimates not the Hasselhoff regular continuity) and battles against War Machine could be fun.
that ending after the fight with abomination is so rushed, and i really thought they would have they would have tried to push the avengers film a bit more with at least some sort of appearance by Thor or Captain America at the end.
All makes sense now.
he's a fantastic actor with integrity. apparently wanting to maintain this integrity makes him 'pretentious'....?
you are very wrong.
