i have some astro turf footy trainers.are they bad for running in?
My legs were fucked after 2 weeks running in normal trainers. Luckily I stole a pair from my brother that he didn't use.
is there any good way to improve technique for running? i regulalrly knacker out my knees, and i think it's cos i thunk my feet down heels first
thunking their heels down first? I went really overboard the last time a bought a pair of running shoes and went to one of those place where you get on a treadmill and they record you running. Then they analyse it on a laptop to decide which trainers are best suited to you. I have a 'neutral' running step or something so it was easy to find some for me.
Go to a sports shopping specialising in running gear and they'll look at your running style and sell you a pair of trainers (usually at least £50-£70).
I didn't realise how well respected asics are. The bloke spent the whole time I was there telling me how good they were and how rubbish nike are.
I wear Asics but tried a few other types (New Balance, Brooks, Mizuno) in past but always came back to same Asics. Now I know which ones to buy you can get them for about £60 of internt.

Running shoes cost me about 80 bucks, but they were worth every damn penny, and you can get other ones far cheaper
Umm I don't have the time to find evidence to back myself up, but yes, jogging/running footware is important to stop you fucking up your bones and your back.
This is important to stop your joints from fucking up from wear and tear.
This is particularly important if you are a fat bastard.
I had a pair of cheap non branded trainers from woolworths (same for track suit and other stuff_
