Sorry! Last JAG for a while!
will you play the fall for me tho, plz?
BIG NEW PRINZ!
can I have The Only Living Boy In New York by Simon and Garfunkle
and Sandoz in the Rain by Amon Duul II
can you turn the bass down a bit. indie pop isn't supposed to make my room shake!
I'd listen, but I have to get ready for work soon. It will be up for streaming soon after though?
today ist nice!
this shits all over death to music with tom whyman!!!!! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
this is making my day :)
This is the first time I've heard Pavement.
I love it. LOVE IT.
Best opening line to a song ever "Ice baby, I saw your girlfriend and she's eating your fingers like they're just another meal"
And the guitars are amazing. And Malkmus's vocabulary is second to none. And it's so trashy
And I JUST WANT TO LIVE IN FUCKING AMERICA AND SIT OUTSIDE AND BE ALL SUBURBAN AND BORED AND SLACKERY AND LISTEN TO PAVEMENT WITH BEER AND SIMILARLY ATTRACTIVE BORED PEOPLE.
THAT'S WHAT PAVEMENT IS FOR
I AM SO HAPPY
Tom Whyman did play a whole shitload of Pavement on Death to Music once, Tristan. (Still, secretly I agree with you. It's a bunch longer though, to be fair.)
and poured several drinks over my head on friday by drunkenly dancing. i am still in an outraged mood with him.
I may have listened to some on Last.fm radio.
But that song was like all woozy and hazy and fuzzy and fucking laced with feedback. That's not what Pavement sound like? Is it? They actually ROCKED. Indie bands don't ROCK.
it's what happens if you live in sunny america, like the fall, own a dictionary and are angry about some ex-girlfriends and have some very noisy, trashy guitars
it's like summer music, and woozy hazy music and noisy music. And it's like sex music and dancing music and lazing about music and listening intently music
it is love music and non-love music and happy and sad music
all the best music is bittersweet. all of it. and pavement might be the most bittersweet of the lot.
But I'm going to give Slanted & Enchanted a go.
it's more they are quite heavily influenced by them. it's hard to explain.
get slanted and enchanted. and crooked rain, crooked rain!
dont listen to brighten the corners though. it'll probably make you angry.
and Embassy Row
you were so great last week. i don't think i said
this is my favourite Beatles song tho! it's SOOO interesting
Like, it's so much more successful than the later, psych beatles because it's still a sweet simple pop song with little tinges of eastern-ness. and also really interesting lyrics. really interesting
it's so awesome!
also, I LOVE YOU!
life is so awesomez! isn't it?
oh my god! my day is perfect
I feel so euphoric!
i feel stupid gushing to myself
you have to beat Craig Foley's suggestion
On The Wheels Of Steel
i love you!
group hug guys
The Scotch Tape Show.
As in, i'm just going to tape the Scotch Tape show.
i own the trademarks and associated rights for it
you can use it tho!
i already like it!
HOW HAVE YOU NOT HEARD ROYAL TRUX?!?!
etc etc etc
demanding to know if i was listening to a britney spears medley :D:D:D
DRINK THE LONG DRAUGHT
DRINK THE LONG DRAUGHT FOR THE BIG PRIEST!!!!!
I love the fact that I Am Kurious, Oranj was written as a ballet score about William of Orange. Like seriously. Imagine people doing ballet! TO THE FALL!
this is probably my favourite bit of Fall history. Brix playing guitar while pushed around on a giant hamburger being the precise moment.
although that was entirely fitting.
All the Micheal Clark + The Fall stuff is great though. It's a shame there's not more on YouTube :(
shall we have another MES thread?
and actually seems enthused sometimes
and is weirdly handsome
instead of just grumpy/
Play some tom waits please!
is it ross clark? my friend's brother says he knows him or something. or it could be the other one.
Sorry if it's not in the tone of the show or anything, I just got home 10 minutes ago and missed it.
This is the TW song I'm currently most obsessed with! This guy is COOL
bump this thread with info on how to 'listen again'
If no-one minds
annoyed i didn't listen earlier.
Daryn was given this answer:
"They've always been wet, ever since I was born"
And provided this question:
"Daddy, tell me the story about your two aunties who were mermaids"
I'm off to the park!
that was great!
Very last bump, just to let people know the full show is now up on the site if you wish to listen again
and click on last monday's date in the block of shows entitled The Self-raising Flour Hour of Power for it to stream
You could also listen to the week before when Craig Foley was on...
Oh yeah, PS to anyone in Glasgow; come to Ross Clark's single launch at Brel on friday
