Bought my girlfriend birthday presents, met her new boyfriend, was bought lunch, met shucks and drank a fair bit of label-less beer, was massively impressed with the new This Town Needs Guns stuff, lazed about in the sun, watched football, had a BBQ.
I am currently listening to 'Anyway You Want It' by Journey.
Massive mistake there
You met shucks? No-one's met shucks! I certainly haven't. (*whispers* what's he like?)
He likes ska-punk
The presents are all really for me.
Where did the other part of that sentence go? I met my sister's new boyfriend after hanging out with my sister for the first time in ages
its made work today very hard
On a barge. With loads of my friends. In the town we grew up in. It was AMAZING.
nice and sunny, and I've started to enjoy The Crying of Lot 49.
went to a party, jumped on a bouncy castle until my legs couldn't support my weight any longer, swung on swings until I got scared the swingset was going to tip over, ate cake until I thought I was going to bring it back up.
I WAS MAD FOR ALEX FERGUSON'S CORRIE COTTONMILLS IN MY BAGGY KNIFE CRIME CLOTHES
RoTa on saturday, good fun even though i didn't get to meet The Internet's DanielKelly.
though my phone died last thing last night, shame as i've got a bunch of calls to make this afternoon
I'm reasonably nice in person, it would confuse you
I was chatting with him for most of that afternoon!
well i only met you after Jonquil, at which point i was stood next to you for TTNG, yet i failed to spot a DanielKelly. maybe you should have introduced us, hm!
DK was standing just in front of me heckling TTNG.
I was interacting!
i bought a nice blue TTNG t-shirt and it's LOVELY! if a little cheap
had a rather severe haircut on Saturday but made up for it with a truly belting curry. Had a top-drawer Sunday roast yesterday as well.
And yes, I do judge my weekends almost entirely on the quality of the food I've eaten.
Saturday: spent most of the afternoon in anticipation of something that ended up not happening. Started making plans for rather exciting semi-secret blog spinoff thing that'll be happening in a couple of months, hopefully.
Sunday: really took advantage of the warm afternoon by staying in and working on the Wikipedia entry listing NME cover stars. Christ, Craig Nicholls was on the cover a shitload of times in 2002-03. Then went out to see Chris T-T and Thomas White. Five people showed up.
Went for a pint on friday afternoon, which ended up being a bit of a 'bender', and had a good night out. Read quite a lot of the watchmen on saturday, then went to Stephen Malkmus, and then out afterwards, and then enjoyed the football, and the park yesterday! How was yours?
I had fun at go-ape! Zip lines are now officially my favourite method of transport. I wish I had a zip line to work!
I had a pint with the paper on Sunday and watched The Breakfast Club last night.
I've been meaning to go to go-ape! for some time. Really good then?
The rope bridges get a bit boring towards the end but it's worth it for the zip lines and tarzan swings!
I recommend it.
need to save up...
super tired now though. how was yours?
Drank cocktails in the rain on Friday, spent all Saturday listening to my new CDs, then spent Sunday by the river. All good!
Went to ROTA, met up with DiSers, had several 'fine' beers/laughs and watched good bands. Then only just got my train back to the 'wade (doors shutting as I lept on) then went to the pub. Sunday was spent on Carmageddon 2 and making a mix cd.
And so ends the opening lines of my autobiography.
Euro 2008 is taking over my life for the next couple of weeks. Any spare time will be used up thinking about Euro 2008. Maybe a little bit of Doom/listening to music thrown in there.
I didn't even pleasure myself this weekend, I couldn't get football players out of my head for long enough.
Saturday: wedding, boozing, eating
Sunday: lazing, Mongol, chatting
The other half came back from holiday so we just had a really nice catch up and relaxing Sunday together. Unfortunately he's now been taken away up to Shetland with work for another 3 weeks, so yet more absense =(
That's a hell of a lot of amazing, 8 exclamation marks, wow. My Vitriol was good by the way, most of my other albums haven't come yet, I'm expecting them in the next couple of days.
I don't usually miss anyone so much as i did when he was in Senegal, so it was nice to see him.
My Vitriol is exceptionally good, though they'd better hurry up with the sophomore effort...people are getting agitated. There will be RIOTS!
..I think I must be getting them confused with another band.
got absolutely shitted on Friday night, went to Lyme Park on Saturday and saw some deer, had my first Saturday night at home in ages and sat around drinking with my girlfriend and watching Team America and Breakfast Club, then on Sunday we went to Heaton Park and rode on the little train and saw some animals and played pitch and putt.
night i tracked drums till 1am
then i woke up 5pm saturday and went to club with friend.
thats it, very relaxed really. :)
Friday had leaving party time at the local. Sad to see her go, and the brilliance of my local with her :(
Saturday watched the Euroland games with Colin Roberts of Big Life Management and had pizza and cigarettes and cider and mega-laughs and spent, like, nothing which was what I needed.
Sunday I met up with one of my best mates for the first time in ages and went to Quins v Warrington. Quins lost, which was sad, but I won two pints in a bet, which was ace. Sunday night I watched a Euroland game involving Germanytown and ate some bicuits then had a relatively early night.
THANKS FOR ASKING.
i went to rota, it was ok. i met brusma. i just realised that he looks like the guy from the IT crowd - the irish guy.
i didn't meet shucks but i spoke to him for the second time in my life. it was a good time for me. i didn't do anything yesterday.
the sad thing is, you're not the first person to say that. i have a good friend who's a dead ringer for Richard Ayoade as well, so people laugh at us
Spent the whole weekend in Cambridge with people I haven't seen for ages, saw some good bands, got covered in black paint, went to an indie club that played REALLY good music, went for lunch by the river in the sun, bought a Tunng album for £3, got home, had a roast, felt quite elated. I love life!
Got utterly ruined at someones house party on Friday, grimaced through the pain on Saturday, explored more of East London, watched a lot of football, went to Columbia Road flower market on sunday & bought chilli plants, then drank at a pub in a park by a canal (The Palm, or The Palm Tree, its called. Apparently the only bit of the neighbourhood that made it unscathed throught the blitz, hence nothing else around it) for a few hours which was utterly glorious. Experimented with panting like a dog. Watched more football. Read a bit.
right next to the canal. Its quite pleasant, and they have people playing music there a few nights of the week too, apparently. Its about 2 minutes walk from my flat, so I can see myself going there a lot. There's another decent place called The Approach nearby too. Pubs pubs pubs.
Above a pie & mash shop and opposite a supermarket called Can (which lead to me making some woeful Faust joke the other night..sigh). Is it that Angel & Crown on the corner near Globetown where they show all the football?
as in ill. 2/10
what else does sick mean?
it can be street-talk for 'ace'.
I do remember my cousin calling Thierry Henry 'bad' and me not realising he actually meant 'good'. This was in 1998 though.
He still is, come to think of it.
obviously not down wit da kidz.
i bought some really nice trainers.then the rest of the weekend was basically sitting watching films with my gf.i didnt even revel in the sun :(
didn't do anything at all, which apparently costs more than you'd think, cause i have about £1.70 left now to last me until the money from my brother comes through (hopefully tomorrow) and i don't have any more food.
I hate the world
bought lots of dvds
no country for old men
pat garrett and billy the kid
curb your enthusiasm series one
The 'man' came to visit and we went for dinner with my brother and his girlfriend on Friday, Saturday was double bill of music greatness, first the DiS thing on saturday at nottinghill arts club and then saw Colour on Saturday night - they were fantastic!
Sunday just chilled really.
Two thumbs up for fine holiday fun!
