Mac vs computer. Your views pls.
I've spent years avoiding macs because of their exortionate prices and expensive support, but I'm beginning to wonder if I've done myself a wrong 'un by continuining to buy computers that crash and bang after two or three years.
The repair costs of macs is also offputting, as is the cost of their software.
I don't really do much with my computers, the last one had maybe 60gbs of music, but I'm impatient with them so probably expect several things to work at once when I should probably just slow down.
All I really need is something stable that can play and organise music, store some photos and watch dvds on. I don't give a damn about gaming or anything like that so I've got pretty simple needs. I do like to have my emails organised/archived and decent bookmarks on the net. That's about it really. Oh - and good sound. Would my harmon kardon speakers work with a mac?
Just opening a debate for the pros and cons of mac vs pc - the last dell was £550 vs £1100 for the spec I wanted, but the previous self-build (by an uncle) computer cost an astounding £1100 and lasted two years.
I'm on a crappy laptop instead of my expoded computer right now, I've only had the damn thing for a year and used it for about two months, and I'm already getting error messages in abundance.
... thoughts?
