Sorry for the delay in coming back to you but I have been off on annual leave.

Unfortunately after speaking to the Director we will have to withdraw your offer as we needed someone to start sooner than you could, I know it was not your fault as the company you are working for extended your notice but we could not hold on and had to hire.
