which is plenty to live on if you're not paying rent, and getting your rent paid for is done in a very similar way
and have you ever considered why people might choose to live off the dole? In part it's because the kind of jobs available are so low paid and demeaning that whey would be better off just not working. Try raising the minimum wage to an acceptable living wage of around £8.50 an hour and then people will see work as a more attractive option than benefit payments, also another crucial thing is that a lot of jobs have no prospects of career progression or chance for self improvement which again leads people to see beneifts as a better option - mentality of if I've got no chance of progressing in a job and it's completely unstimulating then why should I bother to work.
