I used to know all this stuff but I've given up paying attention and forgotten it all.

Typing in this box doesn't keep up with my typing speed and my computer is still good enough not to behave in this way.

So, besides a defrag, what else can I do to make it perform better?

I have tons of stuff on my bottom toolbar but it doesn't seem to want to accept 'hide permanently' anymore.
