and I thought there might actually be a chance of making some money this weekend - turns out, the more money people give me, the more recklessly I spend it?
change how expensive my life is, any increase in money I have will still disappear pretty quickly and leave me right back in the post-uni overdraft mire
so ended up celebrating my 25th birthday by lying on my back going 'ow'.
happy birthday though!
how does one get trench foot outside of war times?
moan droan moan
I managed to get trench foot after Glastonbury once because I couldn't be arsed taking off my wellies.
I bought a car and a digital camera.
I then went round someone's house for an indoor bbq (eg watch someone grill a load of sausages). Brill
Or was it some weird kind of exercise in denying yourself gratification?
went to a really nice barbeque next to the sea on Saturday
on Sunday I saw some SEALS and PUFFINS and had a nice walk
on Monday I had curry at the mosque in Edinburgh and saw a baby deer on the train on the way home :)
What fare do they have to pay?
did you find the train to be a little like the one at the end of Trading Places where that dude gets bummed by a gorilla and no-one notices because they're partying too hard? Because when I went up there it was like that.
but I had to wedge myself in a corner because it was so fucking busy.
Then my DS ran out of batteries so I couldn't play Pokémon so I had to make do with giving people evil looks instead.
Friday I went to a really ace gig and spoke to random Belgian people before standing on a street with a stoned Canadian guy singing early 90s dance hits.
Saturday had the less splendid part of watching Bristol City lose to Hull but then I went to the Brainlove thing, heard some bands and had a drunken conversation with Tim Ten Yen & Niall Spooner-Harvey.
Sunday I had a good rehearsal with my band and got a load of ace photos taken too.
Yesterday I did a charity gig for Burma which was good fun.
I'd give it a solid 8/10.
You were walking up the street! But I have a fear of yelling at people from the internet when I'm sober so I didn't say hi. Sorry!
You sounded good. I thought the last song was excellent.
Going to Clissold park
Dean Windass' volley
A fantastic dinner party
Brainlove alldayer Saturday, hanging out with MelesMeles of the internet Sunday morning and sleeping all of Sunday afternoon.
it was wonderful.
they smelt horrible...
and yet I ate pretty much all of them. I wish I hadn't missed the barbecue!
I went to the usual haunts friday/satuday, then to the cinema on Sunday with a DiSer, then to the Warehouse Project, which was so bad, I ended up taking drugs to attempt to block it out, it didn't work. Felt shit all of yesterday, but was pleased to see Stockport go up. All in all a pleasant weekend.
you know you have to actually *pay* for the stuff you win, right. Otherwise it would be called frebay.
I had a representative bidding for me while I was sitting getting drunk in a pub and texting instructions.
I don't think this is the way that people should use Ebay. It has many possible pitfalls.
quite an experience.
how was yours?
Then you'd be Anne Of Green Gay Balls.
This joke comes with an intended age range of 54-75.
and it was called the queen's ball, so i guess he was dan of queen's gay ball, if that helps?
i'm just making it worse, aren't i?
if a little hectic, I drove down to London, did some stuff, drove to Norwich, did some more stuff, got very sweaty at points, drank too much, met Bearsuit, then listened to Westwood playing shitloads of 90s rap on the punishing drive home from Norwich to Manchester.
Friday: Had job interview, went okay but spent rest of weekend agonising about the facial expression of the woman when I said I wanted to stay living in Leeds not York. Went to see Born Ruffians in theevening, had to knock on their door to get them to put me on the list. Was made to leave three songs into Caribou as my mate thought they were 'too serious'. He's wrong.
Saturday: Slept a lot, watched golf, worried about interview. Went out in York, missed train home and got one at 2am, by now sober. It was filled with people chewing off their faces.
Sunday: Slept a lot, watched golf, worried about interview. Read a bit of a book and half of the Observer Food Magazine.
Monday: Slept a lot, listened to TMS, worried about interview. Went to Tesco, was caught by a gust of wind holding shopping and blew into a wall near my house. Now have knee graze.
Load of rubbish.
Fri: went to Aberdeen, caught up with chums and went to see the Futureheads. Fell into a hedge on the way home.
Saturday: An afternoon in the park catching up with more friends and went to a Eurovision party. Lost £5 in a sweepstake and slagged off my mate's fiancees shoes
Sunday: had a party in Muswell Hill. Made a new friend (something I'm lacking in a bit down here) and got shamefully pissed thanks to my lovely boyfriend keeping me topped up with Red stripe all night
Monday: mostly spent in bed. Pure bliss.
I went to a friend's birthday party and got so unbelievably drunk that I punched a good mate of mine.
I then hitched a lift on the north circular and spent the next 4 hours getting lost as I couldn't remember how to get to Islington. I think we were on the M25 at some point.
I'd give it a solid 0/10.
careers advice (I may be dabbling in web design stuff) off some friends of my parents, plus a free lunch!
did you hear about that album by those georgian monks which is in the top 10 album sales? The sales went through the roof because they do some music on halo 3!
that's amazing. I love the music on Halo 3.
I'm writing you a hug cheque. Cash it whenever you need it.
He found his passport in the end.
Very very good.
Drank lots, indulged in a bit of recreational drug use, danced to some techno, fell about laughing and came home.
Canny wait to go back!
Had 2 gigs with band. 30 minutes before the second one was supposed to start I realised I had left my bass head at the previous venue the night before. Mad dash ensued. No time to mic up/di/line check the bass so it sounded sooooo shit. And my pedals went wrong. I was so ashamed :( Hopefully that's our worst gig out of the way though.
There were a lot of wankers at Dot to Dot and the above incident didn't help my mood so I spent the rest of the weekend in a somewhat murderous rage.
*Bought some new shoes
*Bought a copy of The Idiot for £1.99
*Sat on my butt for hours at a time
it was dull and i pooped a lot.
friday blew my voice doing a demo for band id like to join
sat went tried a nice breedlove acoustic guitar im planning on buying.
sun mixed pre vocal session for an EP ive wrote and im trying hard to finish

incredible japanese restaurant
Friday night I stayed in and watched Peep Show with Mr Kayleia, Saturday I went to an awesome craft fair and bought lots of card-making kits and some hats with bear ears on. Sunday I went for a bike ride and Monday Mr Kayleia took me for lunch. :)
by nottingham police.
- getting drunk with Bamos, Robin AC30 and Scott from Girls Against Boys
- good bands and good people at Brainlove Festival
- going to Crobar and watching a fight
- unexpected live jazz in a pub in New Cross
- staying up all night for no reason and going to bed at 8am
Shame that it completely wiped me out for Saturday. I was only able to fully focus at about the time Dean Windass scored his volley and Ray Parlour walked in the pub.
Where? Coffee House?
where was this? did you talk to him about his ex wife?
"Wotcher, Ray? Mind if I ask you a personal question?"
I bet he'd love that.
Me: 'Ooh, look, there's the Romford Pele!'
Her: 'The what?'
Me: 'The Romford Pele! Ray Parlour!'
Her: 'Oh, I've heard of him'
Me: 'Yeah, he scored in the Cup Final the other year'
Her: 'No, didn't he get fucked over by his missus?'
or should that be *shock*
last time I was there, me and LLB were halfway through the upper street challenge.I believe we had double amarettos.
Scott from GVSB?
for Joey BTW
they were pretty ace. Any set that includes a song with a two-minute cello intro is OK by me, and after they did a Girls Against Boys song Bamos turned to me and said "I think I now know how it felt to be in the audience for Nirvana Unplugged".
Then we bought him drinks and had a chat. Lovely bloke.
but your text was one of the weekend's low points.
in football. we were watching it in the pub when Campbell chipped it back to Windass. I screamed 'HIT IT!!!!'. The pub erupted when it flew in.
It started off terribly as my pathetic housemate is trying to illegally evict me!
Oh the fun!
But then it went from bad to incredible.
friday I failed an exam and then felt sorry for myself instead of Saul Williams
Saturday I failed to get a megabus to london from brainlove alldayer, stayed in and felt sorry for myself but won at four player scrabble. Also, sub-par eurovision except for the swedish presenter. Also - windass hooray
Sunday had one of the worst matches of football I've ever seen and leeds are useless and deserve to be in league one for another season. Then missed SOTL... LOST was a saving grace as usual except for being a bit of a build-up episode.
Yesterday I read Taras Bulba which is amazing, but did NO revision. rubbish
and trying in vain to engineer an anagram-based SOTL/LOST joke
but I spent so long trying to figure out what SOTL was (Stars of the Lid, everybody) that my brain turned to jelly.
they do like to fanny around, don't they? Get on with it, I say.
I don't why that description makes me laugh, but it does.
mates wedding on Saturday - Watched everyone get drunk in the evening :) but had to stay sober because of my painkillers :(
Sunday - watched everyone write off millions of pounds worth of car in monaco on TV, tried to feed ht27's cats (partial fail since he'd padlocked the shed closed) and saw a mate's band in Kings Cross.
Monday - quiet. Played Mario Galaxy. Listened to backlog of albums.
I got taken out for lunch by my parents, then went to see Indiana Jones with my dad, then got taken out for really really awesome dinner and then went to see Thomas Truax!
Saturday was good too, football and pubbing. And yesterday I just laxed around.
I love having no commitments.
Band of Brothers
Was Jenna Jameson's acting any good with clothes on? (granted I haven't seen her act with her clothes off but I'm sure many a guy on here could elaborate.)
was a 15 hour marathon with the Brainlove all-dayer (Cats in paris and Team brick were brill), Rose's party at the Old Blue and then a warehouse rave in the middle of nowhere near the North Circular.
Sunday I went to the pub and then to my friend's house to dance around to 90s classics and drink lots.
Yesterday I saw my family, had a roast, bed my 9
had a bbq on the roof of work!
then i went to the park with friends!
then i went to my friend's house and didn't like his other friends who weren't already my friends!
so i left!
and ate some cheap pizza!
it was good pizza!
we got into some kind of argument with austrian women there, it was weird!
then i went to brainlove "festival"!
i saw people!
i played a song with napoleon iiird!
it was an horrific experience!
i went to a house party!
some people stole my fucking kebab!
i then went to a friend's house to watch tv!
but then i fell asleep!
then i went home!
then i faffed about and wasted time!
then a friend came over and we watched buffalo 66!
then i slept really badly!
then i faffed about all of monday!
then i went to see jeremy warmsley at the social!
i saw more people!
then i ran home to catch up on all the stuff that i'd faffed about!
then i faffed instead!
I didn't find out about the gig until this morning. And frankly, getting out of the house yesterday might have done me some good. Oh well.
It featured: the eating of meat (for the first time in years, so my guts are feeling a little delicate), far too much tequila, London in general, a new flat to live in, the roughest cup of tea I've ever drunk in my life (courtesy of Nico's breakfast emporium in Bethnal Green), a pub with real ale and a Wii in it somewhere near Tottenham, not getting to see Today Is The Day, seeing Gilbert and George very briefly on Brick Lane, Tiger Woods golf for flipping hours on end, Britain's Got Talent, Beavis & Butthead Do America, hip hop.
beer and wine!
Saturday: new chickens! Yay!
Sunday: Dead chickens - killed by fox. depression. TV
Monday: Lots of climbing! Iron Man!
Today: more holiday please!
