111-1 to 164-7. Can anyone spell "it's the nineties all over again"?
Seriously pathetic. Hair look uncomfortable giving Collingwood out, as though he found it somewhat distasteful.
Vic Marks on 5 live said england seem "scared of failure", which if true, makes their current plight a bit deserved really. grow some balls, you pussies!
but then again...didn't Gavin Hamilton play for England once, too?
he toured South Africa a while back. If I remember, he didn't score any runs or take any wickets.
I can't see a way forward for England unless we get Freddie, Simon Jones and Trescothick back into the team. We desperately need an injection of quality and firepower into the bowling.
Trescothick's as good as gone anyway, players of sport don't tend to break through mental "issues" and recover their best. Simon Jones? well, to be fair he only really shone in the Ashes (and boy did he shine), but is he a crock? and Freddie? maybe he's a crock too
we can't say "oh we'd be a great side if everyone's fit", you need depth. i don't think anyone has the solutions to England's decline, much as Geoff Boycott surely thinks he has
Freddie will almost vertainly be back whenever he is fit. Tresco probably won't ever come back to international cricket. Not sure about Simon Jones.
I think we need to re-examine the middle order, clearly they can't keep failing like they are at the moment without some heads rolling. Shah deserves a decent run in the side and James Hildreth looks a decent prospect.
I don't subscribe to the view that Bopara or Luke Wright are the answer. We need a middle order that score big runs consitantly.
Follow on incoming.
Not that Vettori should have taken it anyway. They probably only need a 350 lead to have us well out of the game. Please god let it rain.
111-1 to 202 all out
then again, Australia are at 17-4 at close of play vs. the west indies
NZ at 107-7
but NZ have to be the favourites looking at the scores today and considering how much we'll still need
although Australia are now 25-5, so it's not all bad.
it is. Still quite a big ask.
