It is really sad when you have to get rid of everything

PlayItCoolBoy [Edit] [Delete] 28 replies 18:30, 21 May '08

like old school work and stuff that you spent hours doing or making and now it's all just going to get thrown away, does anyone else have this issue?

  • I still have 'Childrens TV Favourites'

  • I was sad when

My threw five years of school work into the dump for a bonfire.
That's not the sad bit. Then my dad said he was just going to turn it into landfill :'(

    • I DIDN'T GET TO BURN THE PHYSICS SO IT IS :(

      cowcow @cowcow | 21 May '08, 18:32 | X
  • Yeah I always think this

and then I end up keeping it because one day I might like to re-learn how glaciers work and stuff like that.

I never do though. Does anyone know how glaciers work?

  • Sad at first.

Then you get over it, and start collecting a whole new bunch of stuff from a different area of life.

    bamos | 21 May '08, 18:32 | X
    • like Meet Joe Black diaries!

      nice_squirrel @bamos | 21 May '08, 18:38 | X
      • and beanbags!

        guntrip @nice_squirrel | 21 May '08, 18:49 | X
        • Are you two just going to list everything I own now?

That diary is ace, and that beanbag is worth £4,000 of anyone's money.

          • i don't think i know anything else.

  • Only if I care about it

and at the moment I have yet to make anything I care about.

  • I did it just there.

Good bye endless crappy photocopied poems.
Good bye endless worksheets on solving second order differential equations.

And I will say good bye to past papers for easy easy physics when I have done my exam on Friday.

  • take photographs of the things you're most pleased with

and make a book out of them, thus creating happy memories that you're proud of. i kept all my art notebooks/sketch pads and a couple years later my gf at the time used my work for her fashion degree! imagine!

    bostockbostock | 21 May '08, 18:51 | X
  • I still have

All my notes from GCSE and A-level. I try to convince myself that they may be useful one day. I intend to be cremated with my notes.

    eddible | 21 May '08, 18:58 | X
    • i threw out most of my schoolbooks the day i left

we had a ceremonial burning in the park that very night.

      shishapangma @eddible | 21 May '08, 19:18 | X
      • fair play

for actually doing the burning. All my class mates vowed to do it but never did (they clearly took their books home and put them in storage.)

  • Will I need any Media work from school

for film studies at college does anyone know?

    PlayItCoolBoy | 21 May '08, 19:13 | X
    • idk

but my anthro teacher said we should keep our high school anthro stuff for uni, if that's any help. could be the same.

      alley @PlayItCoolBoy | 21 May '08, 19:19 | X
      • Anthrax?

More people need to be taught Anthrax at school. In fact, all rock.

        'What you got after lunch?'
'Double Def Leppard, Saxon and Nazareth'
        'Sweet'.

        bamos @alley | 21 May '08, 19:21 | X
        • :D

Can I copy your Judas Priest homework?

          sadpunk @bamos | 21 May '08, 19:26 | X
        • :D

          (anthropology)

        • Jack Black says he wants to see you

          cowcow @bamos | 21 May '08, 19:28 | X
    • I found that

the work you did the year previous can be useful. Bits and pieces of my A-levels have helped in my degree but I wouldn't stress too much, they'll give you all you need to know at college, only keep notes if you feel they'll be genuinely useful in clarifying topics etc.

      eddible @PlayItCoolBoy | 21 May '08, 19:36 | X
  • is it Mr Trebus?
