So, I've just been speaking to my grandparents on the telephone and they happened to mention in passing that my uncle is in intensive care in Spain.

It transpires that he was exiting a bar with his his wife when he was approached by a man and asked for a cigarette. He replied that he didn't smoke and was promptly assaulted by the man and his friends. Apparently he has a fractured skull, etc etc

This was a week and half ago and NONE of the fucking useless Northern contingent of my family thought to inform me or my brother or my parents.

This guy is a mild mannered Mancunian social worker so i don't believe he would have initiated the conflict.
