serious question here. what do you think a good percentage is?
being able to go to gigs more easily, being able to see friends more easily and not having to get the last train home that I almost forgot moving back to London is going to rape me.
roughly a third.
i don't think this is a good percentage.
but i still live with my parents :(:(
which i think is good! i've always worked on the rule that 50% should be the top limit.
as i'm being RAPED by my work contract, but only 2 months left.
about 10%. I earn too much and my rent's cheap.
A 'good percentage' would depend on how much you earn i suppose. If you earn 200k a year then you'd still be ok if your rent was 75% of that.
Can that be true now please?
£150,000 a year in rent, though... OUCH!
you realise how much my life sucks, right?
You going to the DiS gig in London next Tuesday? Because I can 100% categorically state I will be there.
Didn't realise it was a DiS type thing. OK, I may go then if you 100% absolutely certainly guarantee you'll be there.
And seeing as I have my girlfriends and Kaaj's tickets, I don't think they'd be all that impressed if I didn't show up!
But 700 PW per person? Jeesus.
this is pretty sweet as well: http://tinyurl.com/49jsko
i love the idea of living in a house in the middle of The City :D
If you can afford to pay rent like that why not just buy a place?
Why doesn't the person who owns that place fucking live in it? Jesus!
where large amounts of property is not owned by faceless profit-driven corporations, rather than actual people? ;)
the bed is ROUND
Before it was less than that, I've finally started paying tax. :(
And this 41.55% pays for all my bills and all of the food I eat at home, so it's actually a really good deal.
which i think is usual. for london anyway.
I only ever look at my net pay, split milk and all
but it'll drop to slightly under that next month when my pay rise kicks in
My rent is paid for by my employer. Lucky me.
aren't most peoples?
... my rent is paid directly by my employer. They pay the landlord.
i guess me also. I won a scholarship so i don't really 'earn' money, they just give it to me. So i don't reallllyyyy pay for anything at all.
but that includes CT, phone, broadband, telly and the other standard stuff.
Before tax it's more like 15%.
but with my new salary it would be a quarter. wow, i am getting a nicer place.
and have more for beer, yeah?
Truth eminates from him
meaning rent, bills, council tax, insurance, my travelcard, blahblahblah (but not including food shopping) are covered by about 45% of each of our (gf + me) individual incomes
my share of the rent vs my income is about 30%
without bills, I think if you were earning good enough money you could go up to a half but it depends whether it's better to live in a bit of a hovel and be able to get out more often or struggle to afford somewhere nicer.
hopefully it will be less with the new job
But my flat is pretty nice, and 10 minutes walk from work, which is a HUGE bonus as it cuts down on travel costs and stress.
and that includes bills. That's the best ratio yet for me.
rent is £280 a month, i make £180
my mummy and daddy give me lots of monies.
I wouldn't mind if I was living somewhere worth paying for.
technically 18% after tax.
In actuality, more like 30%,
NONE OF YOUR FUCK.
Could be better. Could be worse.
payments comes to approx 50% of my monthly wages :(
1/5 or a little less.
yet i'm still always skint. well done me.
1% (I know this is silly but 'good' as in based on what exactly)
